I have been watching the drama over Disney's reboot of "Snow White" with both fascination and dismay. It's not the good kind of fascination either. It's more like viewing a train derailment from a high rise building a couple of blocks away β you don't want to see it, but you can't stop looking.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," is one of the most famous adages that we all seem to learn very early in adulthood, if not earlier. It's not universally applicable, of course. A misapplication of that idea could lead to stagnation or β the rapid demise of Blockbuster Video comes to mind here β complete destruction.
It's a good rule to follow in most cases though. A recent example would be my St. Patrick's Day dinner this week. I told everyone that I had perfected my corned beef and cabbage in the Crockpot, but wanted to experiment this year. I did the corned beef on the smoker and it was not at all a good mix with the cabbage and carrots. In modern culinary parlance, it didn't pair well. When describing my disappointment to my sister, I said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
The Walt Disney Corporation has been horribly infected with wokeness, and this has put them in the "fix it" mood. If it had just been the corporate suits or the creatives who caught the woke sickness things might not have gotten this far. There probably would have been some friction, then a compromise that didn't yield anything too awful. Unfortunately, everybody but the people who clean up the theme parks was hit with it, and the rush to swirl down the toilet was on.

I have always loved Disney World and always have a wonderful time. That having been said, I will never return or see a Disney movie until the company thoroughly cleans up its miserable act.
Could it be that audiences are more multicultural now, so the entertainment products need have more appeal to shall we say, not just whites.
Are there any non-white reviewers criticizing the new Snow White?
They did tova point but overall, they didnt. They tried shutting her up real quick when she started hurting the movie, and badmouthing Walt’s version, and she still kept yapping.
? Why on Earth? Gal is way better looking.
Disney “tried” shutting up Zagler when she started hurting the movie,
and badmouthing Waltβs version, and she still kept yapping.
“Make Zegler the sacrificial lamb.......encourage
her wokeness. Ruining her makes us look good.”
I do remember after they screened the initial version with the 7 weirdos. The test audiences gave it monumentally horrible reviews/numbers. Between this and Zeglers mouth and texts and ‘candid’ interviews, they had to totally retool it and demand she shut up for at least a year, hoping people would forget the initial version clips and forget her mouth.
LOLOL...absolutely NAILS it!
Still married?
We stopped giving money to Disney around 1995 when they stopped being gay tolerant and went full-on promoting Gay Days.
To quote my Sunday School teacher: “That ain’t right.” The witch is supposed to be UGLIER than Ms. White (isn’t she?).
That explains why in the non-white international market they make Pumpkin Spice much more pale on the posters because they are trying to attract....
Oh wait, no. That does not explain it at all.
But I have no doubt the chowder heads in Hollywood and other places do think in that mush for brains sort of way.
No, divorced in 2003.
She waited the required 6 months after divorce to marry her “new” boyfriend/boss.
I haven’t seen nor spoken to her since.
Good grief! After a $40,000 wedding? I assume you’re “over it”? π
To be honest, I still have dreams at least once a week that I am still with her.
On a positive note, she had 2 best friends and a sister that totally disowned her and stopped talking to her, yet stayed friendly to me.
Her best friend’s daughter ended up looking up to me like a family member herself (she was only 2 when I had married my (ex)wife).
That’s a good ending overall.
"Thatβs a good ending overall."
