I have been watching the drama over Disney's reboot of "Snow White" with both fascination and dismay. It's not the good kind of fascination either. It's more like viewing a train derailment from a high rise building a couple of blocks away — you don't want to see it, but you can't stop looking.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," is one of the most famous adages that we all seem to learn very early in adulthood, if not earlier. It's not universally applicable, of course. A misapplication of that idea could lead to stagnation or — the rapid demise of Blockbuster Video comes to mind here — complete destruction.
It's a good rule to follow in most cases though. A recent example would be my St. Patrick's Day dinner this week. I told everyone that I had perfected my corned beef and cabbage in the Crockpot, but wanted to experiment this year. I did the corned beef on the smoker and it was not at all a good mix with the cabbage and carrots. In modern culinary parlance, it didn't pair well. When describing my disappointment to my sister, I said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
The Walt Disney Corporation has been horribly infected with wokeness, and this has put them in the "fix it" mood. If it had just been the corporate suits or the creatives who caught the woke sickness things might not have gotten this far. There probably would have been some friction, then a compromise that didn't yield anything too awful. Unfortunately, everybody but the people who clean up the theme parks was hit with it, and the rush to swirl down the toilet was on.

Perhaps the parents of these morons NEVER read them fairy tales when they were little.
It wasnt just Disney. Rachel Zegler personally did more damage with her attitude and mouth than even Disney did with the woke story and the 7 weirdos did.
Ah, the Lady in red on the right (though both are miscast, who is the fairest?).
Friend of mine who is very conservative loves Disney and heads to Disney in florida every chance she gets.
I keep wondering when she will get a clue on that one.
At least her B-Day gifts would be easy...

It wasnt just Disney. Zegler herself did more

She could not have gotten away with it if Disney itself
didnt want to flaunt its wokeness and radical feminist identity.
Zegler knew Disney had her back from the getgo.
I guess that has sort of a double meaning today.

Disney is not attempting to make money anymore, but to jam wokness down our throats, reconfigure the culture. I have long wondered if they are getting reimbursed somehow through all the shady money laundering operations that are taking place in our government.
It’s not just Disney. Amazon is turning Wheel of Time into a woke womens’/lesbians’ soap opera. I’ve been struggling for days to get all of the WoT spam off my X timeline.
And then you have the woke mind virus invading gaming. There’s a huge controversy around Assassins’ Creed Shadows not only over the destruction of a real-world Japanese shrine but the *three* gay relationships in it. And then there’s last month’s controversy over Kingdom Come II and the numerous woke intrusions in it.
I’ve given up. I’ve retreated into my own fiction writing. At least that way I can sure that it will never be woke and 100% of my characters will be straight.
Disney is starting to remind me of Ukraine...
