A reporter for NPR has been driven into hiding after being named by MAGA supporters as the person who hit President Donald Trump in the face with a microphone.
Danielle Kurtzleben, a political correspondent for the government-funded outlet, was named as the journalist who allegedly hit Trump in the face with a boom mic during a press conference last week, according to independent journalist Laura Loomer.
Loomer, a staunch Trump fan, identified Kurtzleben on Sunday in a post on X, suggesting she may have hit the president on purpose.
'I have identified the reporter who hit President @realDonaldTrump in the face with a boom mic this week while he was speaking to the press on the tarmac,' Loomer wrote.
'Her name is Danielle Kurtzleben @titonka. She is the newly appointed White House reporter for @NPR and a massive Trump hater and LGBTQ advocate who once suggested during the 2024 campaign that Trump only spoke in Howell, Michigan because it has ties to the KKK.
'Did she hit President Trump in the face on purpose?,' Loomer speculated.
Loomer's tweet has been viewed nearly 7 million times - and triggered hundreds of other Trump fans to also speculate about Kurtzleben's alleged involvement.
After being named, Kurtzleben made her X account private and has not spoken about the situation.

But also, in defamation law, just because you couch an accusation in the form of a question or opinion doesn't mean it's not defamation.
If a reasonable listener is likely to take your question or opinion as a "statement of fact," then it's defamation (if it's also false and defamatory).
Whether a question or opinion is really a false "statement of fact" is for the jury to decide.
You don't get off by saying, "In my opinion, Joe Smith met the child Mary at the playground at 3:13 p.m., which I can see from my window, and raped her with a butter knife. But hey, that's just my opinion." Wink, wink.
That's so specific, a jury will regard that as a "statement of fact," so it better be true.
You also don't get off just by throwing up a question mark.

The Secret Service should have immediately confiscated her mic and tested it for the presence of any harmful agents.
There are many people who hate President Trump but are able to get in close proximity to him.
His safety is somewhat reliant on people behaving in normal, rational ways. But we have a nation full of irrational, crazy, psychotics.
It’s time to put distance between him and them.
That’s because the leftists think we’re going to act like them.
I campaigned for Trump in 2015 at the NC State Fair. Our booth was 20-30 people deep with Christian Conservatives holding hands, praying and sharing a deep love for American. I walked by Hillary’s booth and there were 2 angry, dirty beatnik college student females viciously berating America and our booth. I laughed and kept walking. I am sure they hadn’t bathed or shaved anything in weeks. Blech.

I hope I am wrong, but I suspect it was intentional and a dry run to show other Trump haters how they could take out Trump. That mic could have had Lord knows what harmful transdermal substance on it......

One of the commenters on Real America’s Voice was there and said that it was an accident — and that’s the “honest-to-God truth”. Said the person is definitely anti-Trump, but is always professional when working.
So maybe it truly was an accident.
