Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov urged the United States to cease strikes against Yemen’s Houthis, the foreign ministry said on Sunday.
Lavrov spoke to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio by telephone, the ministry said.
“In response to the American representative’s arguments, Sergey Lavrov stressed the need for an immediate cessation of the use of force and the importance for all sides to engage in political dialogue in order to find a solution that would prevent further bloodshed,” the ministry said.

Next will be to make peace with Iran. It’s absurd that we have kept this conflict going for so many years without attempting to come to terms.
I think that we have treated them as mortal enemies for so long that no one stops to think about why, and how we got there (the US is not innocent in that, although it was a while back!).

BUT I have said I never thought putin was a good guy..he’s ex kgb and misses the “glory days” of the USSR.
He is allies with some of the worst countries in the world...china, nk and iran.
I think he is pragmatic to an extent and does love his country..he understands Christianity’s role in getting population numbers back up, even if he doesn’t believe in it himself.
And I think NATO forced his handin Ukraine.
If I’m wrong, it shouldn’t be a big deal...Europe’s GDP is 28 TRILLION dollars...so why have we been putting up 90 percent of the weapons and money?

There are very few US-flagged ships used in merchant trade.
What there is is a shipping “pool” owned by multiple ship owners or leased by shipping companies, from investment pools of ship owners - think hedge funds. All these ships fly flags of convenience.
“Our” is literally correct though, as the owners, ultimately, are very likely to include US citizens or entities, among others of course. And then there are the cargoes.
