I don’t know about the Houthis, but the Iranians are far from savage barbarians, at least innately. Persians are a statistically high-IQ people. The Russians have no issue reasoning with them, and I believe that we can as well.

I think that we have treated them as mortal enemies for so long that no one stops to think about why, and how we got there (the US is not innocent in that, although it was a while back!).
