I do know it’s not all roses during that time. I have a first cousin who was born death because his mother had the German measles while she was pregnant. She caught it as a school teacher.
My memories of that time were we were more concerned about polio which was infinitely more devastating than measles.

Funny... I'm not seeing any posts here by all the people who didn't survive to tell the tale. Me. I didn't survive measles, died three times from polio, was completely vaporized from swine flu, and was mildly inconvenienced from Covid.

Clackers and lawn darts already killed us 10 times over.This reminds me of the many things we did because of being dared. I recall one game where we threw knives at each others foot to see who flinched first.
If measles and lawn darts didn't kill us there was always standing in the back seat of a car that had no seatbelts or riding a bike without helmets.
