Gene Hackman may not have realized his wife, Betsy Arakawa Hackman, was dead during his final weeks due to his advanced Alzheimer’s, according to forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden.
The legendary actor died due to hypertensive atherosclerosis cardiovascular disease, with Alzheimer's disease as a significant contributing factor, New Mexico officials confirmed Friday.

It was the 63 year old dead in a separate room, him found dead in a different room, the dog dead while two others were free and about, pills spilled around, the week between their deaths, the front door open, the delay in anyone knowing the household of this celebrity was dead.
Pretty mysterious stuff until the pieces were brought together.
What killed their dog that was found inside their house?
I didn’t see anything mysterious about it. It was known nearly immediately this guy had Alzheimers and finding them in separate rooms is certainly not uncommon.
The only odd thing is he had plenty of money to have an aid come by once per day or whatever. Then again some people like to live the recluse life and be hermits. They want to be LTF alone. I have no problem that either.
You left out the dog and you forget that at first most everyone looked at it and guessed carbon monoxide poisoning, which was a pretty reasonable guess with the first small list of details.
At least they are out of it now - and hopefully with The Lord.
And they were all very wrong.☺
Btw, they would have known almost immediately there was no obvious foul play involving the dog either. ie, no signs and physical trauma, injuries etc. I was pretty confident from the beginning this was not a who done it.
BTW, it’s also not uncommon with the elderly, long married folk, when one goes the other takes their own life. Very sad but not uncommon.
At the beginning you would have been disagreeing that it could have been a gas leak, the first responders and law enforcement dived into that along with the public.
hot take
Please, don’t tell me what I, “would have been doing”...lol
C’mon...
They were wealthy enough to have a staff of nurses, so why didn’t they have at least one to give the wife a break?
“”””I was pretty confident from the beginning this was not a who done it.”””””
It was a play on those words, you should have felt pretty confident that the people who first showed up there and law enforcement were wrong to speculate on a carbon monoxide event and call in inspectors.
I suggest Scarecrow.
Hackman's favorite movie that he made.
I watched it the week before he died.
I really liked The Conversation with Hackman and Cindy Williams.
My impression was that at 30-years younger than him, she lived to care for him and wanted it that way.
They were 3 years apart in age. Not common.
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Posts 24 and 28 mention what the early speculation was.
“isn’t at all a bad way to go”
I’d prefer the Tyrion Lannister method: https://youtu.be/Uv3rLe_oELQ?si=A6LTsKIQh9En-0Wa
And graveyards are full of people in their 50’s. Don’t believe me, go look.
