A condition could not officially be called Covid-19 until April thanks to the NIH. So to get the Dec 2019 - Mar 2020 numbers one has to look at things coded SARS-2 and similar.
An article I read between Christmas 2019 and New Years was very accurate in describing how it targeted the elderly. It said the origin was probably the Wuhan Lab but not conclusive on that.
The failure of government at all levels is the real story. Funeral Homes are regulated precisely to limit the funerals of those with contagious disease. Yet they were a #1 early spreader of the disease. If regulation doesn’t work, why do it?
Nursing Homes busing the elderly to church Sunday morning where the elderly hugged and kissed elderly from other nursing homes. Nursing Homes are regulated to protect their residents. Yet they were allowed to spread the disease.
If regulation doesn’t work, why are they regulated?
Covid also targeted those with co-morbidities who were not elderly....many of whom were in nursing homes.
Covid did not target middle aged and younger adults and youth. Yes, a few not in the targe groups did get Covid. Most of them worked in Nursing Homes and similar jobs.
It will be interesting how history books and other narrative handles the facts and storylines in the future. This is true throughout modern history. My daughter’s history books totally lied about the Vietnam War.
“In God we Trust” and “under God” in the pledge of allegiance suffer the same lies of history. Currently it is accepted by many that we should trust government.
1948-1958 the universal attitude of Americans was that if we trust government we get Commies or Nazis. The solution was a small government that should not be trusted.
Chickens in the USA are being tested for Bird Flu by…the PCR test.
