President Donald Trump plans to revoke temporary legal status for some 240,000 Ukrainians who fled to the US when Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, it has emerged.
The move is expected as soon as April, a senior Trump official and three sources familiar with the matter said, and could potentially put hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians on a fast-track to deportation.
The planned rollback of protections for Ukrainians was underway before Trump publicly feuded with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last week.

Yeah, I’m not buying this. If this was a real thing, MSM outlets would already be apopleptic.
Thats a great idea...
Sorta ridiculous they are here instead of helping their country...
Another problem undone.
They dont need to be here.
This is the Murdoch’s Daily Fail. I’m not buying any of their NeverTrumper BS.
They’re genuine refugees. There is a real war going on in their country. In any case, I’ll gladly take more Western Christians. Let’s focus first on criminals and then on deporting 3rd world scum.
Isn’t asylum supposed to be at the nearest non-hostile country? Heard that once, maybe I’m wrong. I would think anywhere in Europe would be a bit easier.
Sounds like a good plan.
Let’s get it moving...
I hope he’s kicking out Zelensky’s Jan 6 agitators.
They are a security threat and their ontelligence service is known for assinations globally. Get them out.
Its easier. Spain has room for white people, hard workers, women & kids. We are down 50,000 from peak Uke refugee, so go ahead.
This really is your loss.
Kewel!
Those Ukie meat waves aren’t gonna press-gang themselves!
How many are military aged males?
Good points!
One of the Ukrainian people I know who went to the USA did so because they are fluent in five languages (English, Russian, Ukrainian, Cantonese and Arabic) and have worked as a NATO translator on previous US led operations. They went through three months of hell to get to the UK under that scheme, then got invited to work in the USA.
If even they get kicked out...
The same needs to be done for Syrian and Haitians etc. once the war is ended people need to return to their country to rebuild.
A total mistake.
They are actual refugees.
Additionally they are both European and Christian, thus compatible with the original and dominant population and culture of the US.
Unlike Mexicans, for instance, they don’t believe the United States are illegitimate. Unlike black Africans, they don’t have a foundational grudge against the United States nor its founding majority population. Unlike Asians, they aren’t complete cultural and ethnic aliens. Many have existing long standing ties to both the US and Canada. They won’t try to force the US to speak Ukrainian or force us to adopt Cyrillic. There are entire neighborhoods in Cleveland, Chicago, greater Detroit comprised of third and fourth generation Ukrainians.
So on the contrary, if we “need” immigrants, they would be ideal, not violent half wits from Latin America or opportunist schemers from the Indian subcontinent.
Want more proof? Benjamin Orr, founder and lead singer of the Cars, was of course the son of Ukrainian / Slovak immigrants. What more proof could you want?!
I live in the Florida panhandle. I was surprised how many Ukrainians of military age I’ve met riding out the war here. I told my wife Biden could pound sand when he was talking about my boys taking their place. BTW met several Russians here for the same reason.
I know many refugee families who fled the war.
Many of them are women with children and the elderly.
Most of them have received a permit to work and are gainfully employed.
Many are from the occupied parts of Ukraine, they have no homes to come back to.
It would be heartless to send them back before even a peace deal is reached.
I worked with two Ukraine refugees last year, one had been here two years the other six months.
The job was in Hollywood CA. I was a subcontractor on the job, the two Ukrainians worked directly for the owner, also Ukranian. (Dance studio)
I can tell you unequivocally that the quality of their work, their use of our language and their attitude towards our country was refreshing after the decades of working around Mexicans who don’t give a rats ass about anything other than sending money out of country.
I have no dog in this fight just personal observations.
