Social Security has never missed a payment. DOGE actions threaten ‘interruption of benefits,’ ex-agency head says

Social Security has never missed a benefit payment since the program first began sending individuals monthly benefits more than eight decades ago.

But the recent actions at the U.S. Social Security Administration by Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency are putting monthly benefit checks for more than 72.5 million Americans at risk, former commissioner and former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley told CNBC.com.

“Ultimately, you’re going to see the system collapse and an interruption of benefits,” O’Malley said. “I believe you will see that within the next 30 to 90 days.”

Ahead of any interruption in benefits, “people should start saving now,” O’Malley said.

The Social Security Administration uses multiple systems and technologies that Elon Musk has criticized for leading to errors. As commissioner, O’Malley told Congress the agency needed more funding for IT modernization.

O’Malley said DOGE leaders are now making changes at the agency, and significant staff cuts have already led to system outages. Those intermittent IT outages may happen more frequently and for more extended periods of time until there is a “system collapse and an interruption of benefits,” he said.

**SNIP**

The Department of Government Efficiency, also known as DOGE, is not a federal department. And Musk, whom President Donald Trump brought on board to implement DOGE, is not an elected official.

Since its establishment, DOGE has looked to slash spending at federal government agencies.

Financial analysis of the Covid 19 pandemic and the millions of deaths in the US prematurely ending Social Security fund payout to beneficiaries now dead— this revealed several billion dollars kept IN the socalled “trust fund” which extends the life of the fund for 3 or more decades

The numbers I saw was a three year extension (2035 to 2038) from a $205 billion net savings. From the early deaths less will be spent on direct benefits, but less tax will be paid and more survivor benefits will be paid to counter some of the savings.

The "I Owe Me" certificates in the trust fund have almost no effect on the real Social Security plan. By cashing them in, the SS gets to tap the general revenue and force bond market borrowing without needing Congressional approval. If the whole trust fund was never set up, SS would tap the general revenue and force bond market borrowing but need Congressional approval to do it. Economically and budget-wise there is no difference.

“Ultimately, you’re going to see the system collapse and an interruption of benefits,” O’Malley said.

I take that as a greenlight for disgruntled staff in SSA to sabotage the payment system.

Plan accordingly.

Just scaring old people, because they urgently need more Dem. votes!

DOGE is actually trying to save Social Security!
DOGE savings may at least delay the ultimate demise!
O’Malley idea - do Nothing, let us wait until the system goes bankrupt.

Yeah- that occurred to me— the IOUs all being in a file cabinet in Harpers Ferry, WV as has been said.

The “net-net” to all the dead the Plandemic caused in the US is not great as a result.

It’s always been a Ponzi scheme created by FDR and held sacred like some holy ritual which must not be touched— and yet loaned out into general revenue starting with LBJ. That a@@hole-— Billy Sol Estes of the War on Poverty— murderous bastard.

This is nothing but government employees weaponizing DOGE cuts.

They should be summarily fired.

I’d be happy to help out by taking a buyout. Whatever I’ve paid in over the last 45 years.

“ Ultimately, you’re going to see the system collapse…”. Well, that much I DO believe. They make it sound like there is some person literally sticking 79 million checks in envelopes and licking a stamp on it.

I believe you will see that within the next 30 to 90 days.

Yeah. And the rising ocean will inundate the country. And zombies will eat all the chickens. Trump is just going to have to push a few grannies in wheelchairs down the stairway and it will all work out.

As part of a 10-month investigation Scripps News uncovered that every year, thousands of migrant children disappear from their homes shortly after arriving in the U.S. But there is no clear local, state or federal government agency taking responsibility for searching for many of these missing ...Apr 2, 2024

This is so bogus-——the kids arent missing, they are loaned out, passed around to other migrants. to be used in lucrative scams to get tax dollars from S/S and hefty disability checks.

Vindictive Biden overturned Trump’s order to get the DNA of these so-called needy families, to make sure the kids are really theirs.

A common practice by these greedy illegals is getting a crooked doctor to say a kid’s autistic b/c they get hefty SS tax paid benefits every month for the kid.

The maximum possible disability benefit for autism in 2024 is $943 per month for SSI and about $3,822 per month for SSDI. These maximums apply regardless of what condition you have or whether you apply with one condition or multiple. The actual amount received depends on specific circumstances. (Dec 7, 2023)

Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is a key benefit for children under 16 living with disability, including autism. It is assessed according to care needs, and a diagnosis is not required to make a claim. DLA helps cover the extra costs of raising a child with a disability. (Jan 30, 2024)

And it’s a sure bet they invent their “family circumstances.”

Plus senior illegals are draining the system, collecting without working a day here, not having put a dime into the system.

Fraud and waste in S/S? Here’s a big one..... Biden Signed H.R. 7691
Qualifying Refugees From Ukraine TO CLAIM SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS

- H.R. 7691 was signed into law on May 21, 2022

- H.R. 7691 also opened pathways for Ukrainian parolees to access mainstream federal benefits typically reserved for refugees, like Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA)
-

In October 2024, Biden’s DHS extended parole and work authorization for Ukrainians under the “Uniting for Ukraine” program, keeping them eligible for such benefits through 2025 and beyond.

Mainstream media reports confirm hundreds of thousands of Ukraine citizens are claiming American Social Security Benefits and never paid a dime into the system.
