Ahead of a "March Against Mills" on Saturday, an online petition to recall the governor of Maine has received over 22,000 signatures.
Janet Mills and President Donald Trump got into a heated debate last week after the two clashed about Trump's executive order that aims to keep transgender athletes out of girls' and women's sports.
Last week, Trump told her at the White House that she must follow his executive order, or "you're not going to get any federal funding," to which she replied, "We’ll see you in court."
"I'm complying with state and federal laws," Mills said, before Trump said, "Well, we are the federal law," and "you better do it, you better do it, because you're not going to get any federal funding at all if you don't.
Trump later issued a Title IX investigation against the state, along with California and Minnesota.
Melissa Moulton is listed as the "petition starter" on change.org. She is also the "host" of the "March Against Mills" event on Facebook.
"I am standing among many Maine citizens who are deeply dissatisfied with the policies introduced by our Governor, Janet Mills. I believe strongly that her policies are not in alignment with the wishes and values of the majority of Mainers," Moulton wrote. "The feeling of disconnect between the populace and leadership is palpable and widespread. Various statistics underline rural-urban divide that has been exacerbated by the Governor's decisions. Additionally, several of her policies contradict the economic growth and prosperity that should be our government's priority. I am yet another citizen calling for change and improvement for our beloved state of Maine. It is imperative that we hold our elected officials accountable. I implore you to sign this petition to voice our collective dissent and to initiate the recall of Governor Janet Mills.

Isn't that close to the population of Maine? ;-D
This goes to show ,that this business of biological males competing in female sports is a losing issue for the liberals.
And it’s a separate issue from civil rights for transgender.
We see conservatives such as Hannity having respectful interviews with Bruce Jenner, in using female pronounced refer to him.
And yet Bruce Jenner is against biological men in women’s sports.
You can say you’re tolerant of trans and all of that. But still oppose transgender men in women’s sports.
Based on public opinion polls, clearly a big group of people who are otherwise liberal on transgender issues, oppose transgender men in female sports.
does an online recall petition in Maine mean anything from a legal standpoint, or is it just an exercise in uselessness
in colorado, recall and ballot question initiation petitions all have to be on paper, carried by an actual person, signed by each signatory, and attested to by the carrier for EACH instance of the petition ...
Man hands?
Not to mention man nose.
There is no recall provision in Maine. This is symbolic.
“...oppose transgender men in female sports...”
-
You have your transgender terminology mixed up.
Transgender men are girls pretending to be guys.
Just substitute “fake” for “transgender” to keep it right.
“We’ll see you in court.”
That is not usually said by someone who is confident or about to win.
She is another person that you wouldn’t want to turn around in a dark alley and see approaching that has managed to get elected to something besides dogcatcher. How on earth do people vote for somebody like that?
Sorry. Yep I get confused with all this gender bending stuff nowadays. My bad......
I’m also clearly uneducated with all the gender identities. There have been over 50 gender identities discovered so far. I will be sent to reeducation camp someday.
I will be a tough case for them. Because I have this weird idea that there are only two sexes. And how we get from two sexes to fifty gender identities, is simply beyond my comprehension.
i don’t know how old this is- maybe it’s changed?

Don’t know how many signatures they need, but then asty beotch is pretty well-hated in the 2nd Congressional District, especially after all her tyrannical COVID mandates.
A couple of years ago, they had to pull actually out of a local 4th of July prarade out of fear for her safety....LOL. One could hear the booing for miles....I mean, Mills.
This Austin Powers look-alike needs to be GONE!!!!
15% of population i believe
and yep- it was her who caused a Maine business owner who defied covid regulations to go out of business- i had hoped that many businesses woudl have supported the owner and joined with him in defiance, but sadly that didn’t happen- he was left out to dry by himself- and paid a huge price for beign a patriot
"Isn't that close to the population of Maine?"
More precisely:
“15% of the number of votes cast for candidates for that office at the last preceding election in the electoral district of the elected official.”
Number crunching:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Maine_gubernatorial_election
There were 676,819 votes in that election.
15% of that is 101,523 signatures needed.
That fugly hippie in expensive clothes isn’t going to budge.
The hard-wired libtard arrogance is tattooed on her ugly face at all times.
