US President Donald Trump extend for one year certain sanctions introduced against Russia earlier in connection with the situation in Ukraine, the White House said in released documents, APA reports quoting TASS.
Restrictions introduced by Washington against Moscow by previous administrations in executive orders in 2014, 2018 and 2022 and pertaining to reunification with Crimea and to Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics are meant. These restrictive measures "must continue in effect beyond March 6, 2025," Trump said.
"The actions and policies addressed in these Executive Orders continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States," the US President said.

All part of a negotiation, my Zeeper friend.
Ukraine gets its sovereignty, Euro troops and we get rare earth stuff.
Putin gets nada.
But dropping the sanctions now would be premature.
They are part of the negotiating and leverage.
Your side had their chance.
You f’ed it up.
Ukraine will suffer for a generation because of the refugees, cripples and dead. Ukraine is an economic basket case (1/3 GDP loss), has a heavily damaged infrastructure, few will really want to invest there even after the war ends (not like 2014), and they will end up with 17% less landmass. Even EU membership well in reach before the war is now lost.
Congratulations.
If you continue the war, Ukraine will simply lose more ground. The longer the war rages on, the WORSE the situation becomes for Ukraine.
In case you missed all of 2024 (despite our maximum efforts), Ukraine is net losing ground every day.
Russia is net gaining ground every day.
We have some leverage: sanctions, the fact that Russia is losing troops and paying a lot economically for this war. They also want this to end.
But we don't have the dominant position. They do.
Hint for Ukraine: don't start a war with someone 3.5 times your population, with 10 times your industry, with larger war stocks, 10 times your GDP... Once they mobilize, it's game over.
Not after what just happened.
This conversation, a poke in the eye against Trump—on National TV, will not go unanswered. The Media will work this as Trump being stupid and siding with Russia. Maybe even call for impeachment—the neo-Cons and Liberals will rally and set up anti-Trump marches. It is not permitted to talk down saint Zelensky.
Or zElensky could just go home from the White House...
If the media mattered, Trump would not have been 45 or 47.
Trump won today.
World leaders are a bit taller, don’t wear a T-shirt to the Oval Office, and don’t act like a pair of deuces is a winning hand.
Most Americans knew Dr. Ponzi was a con man and if they didn’t at the time, they do now.
This little fella is con man and he is smart enough to know he’s only got one con.
Without the war is has no con.
Today he was simply fighting for his survival, keep the war going and his skim keeps coming in.
