Legendary Hollywood actor Gene Hackman has been found dead in his Santa Fe, New Mexico home alongside his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican, citing police.
Santa Fe County police discovered the body of the two-time Oscar winner, 95, and 63-year-old Arakawa — his wife of 34 years — and their dog on Wednesday afternoon.
Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed the news on Thursday, saying no foul play is suspected.

    No foul play?
I read the article. Nothing else really stated.
Sounds fishy.

Two people and a dog drop dead at the same time all the time. Nothing foul at play there. Probably just wanted to hold hand and go to Heaven together.

Santa Fe botched the Alec Baldwin Rust investigation and prosecution, too.

Not if it’s carbon monoxide poisoning.
I can see Gene Hackman, being 95 years old, offing himself if he found his wife dead of natural causes.

If they all died with no foul play, it could be carbon monoxide from a faulty heating unit.

Definitely a possibility. Weird Al Yankovic lost both of his elderly parents to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Do not rule out Carbon Monoxide. Happens more than it should.

Hackman was a great guy and a real gentleman. He used to jog here in the keys until he got hit by a car. When he came in area stores he was always a gentleman and it was hard to tell he was a huge celeb.
He will be missed and his death definitely needs to be investigated.

I used to be a firefighter, and yes, could be CO. We sold CO detectors at cost to the townsfolk and they have saved more than a few people over the years. Every home should have a couple. Especially if they have an attached garage or gas heat.

That was my first thought. A clogged flue for the fireplace or woodstove, or faulty heating duct. I also thought about food poisoning, but they would have to feed the dog the same food, which a lot of people do. The “No foul play” line is is premature from my perspective, if they don’t know the cause of death, how can they rule out foul play?

Definitely Legendary! One of the best actors of his time.

Very intense actor, he gave it everything he had. I saw the French connection when it first came out. I was impressed. he was friends with Dustin Hoffman, both were voted least likely to succeed. He lied about his age, when he was 16 he joined the Marines, became a radio operator.
