LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Five years ago, the COVID-19 pandemic changed the world.
Many of those changes are now part of everyday life.
Medical experts say there’s still more to learn from this new normal and COVID’s impact five years later.
Ahead of the fifth anniversary of the pandemic, medical experts shared their thoughts, including where public health stands now
“We are better today, better as a society, better as health care professionals and we’re more aware of the factors that prevent our patients from getting good health care and focused on changing those factors,” said Dr. Amit Sachdev, Neurology Medical Director at Michigan State University.
Over 1.2 million people died in the U.S. due to the virus including over 44,000 in Michigan. Peter Gulick, Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University says beyond the vaccine, masks and the closing of schools and nonessential businesses were ways to help slow the spread of the virus.

Too many shady characters made tons of money and exercised too much tyrannical power.
yep 1.2 million supposedly died of Covid, but suddenly none from the Flu.
what idiot believes that.
Stopped right there. No, health care professionals exposed just how corrupt and unprofessional they are. The health care profession ceased to be about health decades ago and thus ceased to be a profession. It's just a racket designed to fleece victims. COVID-1984 simply exposed it.
Personally,
Still working from home and loving it.
Saving $3000 a year in gas.
And 3000 hours a year drive time.
80% of what I buy is delivered to my door.
F’ed up and poorer. Lost many lives unnecessarily. Trampled on people’s rights. Fell for fake vaccines. The list goes on...
Well that is a load of Bull.
“We are better today, better as a society, better as health care professionals and we’re more aware of the factors that prevent our patients from getting good health care and focused on changing those factors,” said Dr. Amit Sachdev, Neurology Medical Director at Michigan State University."
And lots more leftist stinkum...
Peter Gulick, Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University says beyond the vaccine, masks and the closing of schools and nonessential businesses were ways to help slow the spread of the virus.
Dr. Jayanta "Jay" Bhattacharya was a co-author of the "Barrington Declaration" that refuted this nonsense and said that closing schools was going to far more societal harm. Many studies show that masks are, at best, neutral on preventing transmission.
Dr. Bhattacharya was almost destroyed professionally by leftists for his position.
Now Dr. Bhattacharya has been nominated by Donald Trump to serve as the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH)! This role positions Bhattacharya as a key figure in shaping U.S. medical research and public health policy under Trump's administration. His nomination is still pending Senate confirmation
GO! Dr. Bhattacharya!
People still walking around (or driving around alone with the windows rolled up) with the Fauci face diapers ...
It was a scam from the outset!
I challenge these “experts” to name one positive change.
Not “Experts”
‘Ex-Spurts’
I proudly stand by what I said to my wife during the first week of the lockdowns:
“This could be very well be the STUPIDEST time in history.”
I will not even read covid stories with headlines that include the word “experts”.
Guaranteed bovine excreted propaganda
Didn’t know that. Thanks. GO Dr. Bhattacharya!
I still see them with masks. Frequently with NPR tote bags.
I learned that a lot of people in my circle are sheep, both friends and family.
