Since the SNL 50th anniversary took place that created so much backlash toward Tom Hanks after the Tom Hanks Trump Supporter comedy sketch backfired not just on NBC but also on tom hanks career after millions of fans left him afterwards....the tom hanks snl 50th anniversary trump supporter parody was best described as a ratings disaster for snl....the tom hanks maga snl skit also caused tom hanks to disable comments on his instagram account.
This also comes in the midst of NBC making a swift move to improve their business model after getting so much pushback from the public.

I actually thought the first time he did the MAGA guy on Black Jeopardy sketch he was pretty funny, and the joke was that they realized they were more alike than different.
