Dan Burmawi Listen up. I am Jordanian, and I tell you that the two-state solution is dead, stone cold. And I’ll tell you why.

Conversation Dan Burmawi @DanBurmawy

Back in 1994, when Yitzhak Rabin was ready to hand the Palestinians a state on a silver platter, who was the loudest voice against it? Benjamin Netanyahu. And what did the world call him? A radical, an enemy of peace, a warmonger. Even inside Israel, many thought he was being extreme. But was he? Bibi’s argument was simple: You don’t hand a state to people who openly declare that your country has no right to exist and that their ultimate goal is to wipe you off the map. That’s not a “peace process”, that’s national suicide.

He understood the security risks. A Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) would leave Israel a mere 9 miles wide at its narrowest point. That’s nothing. That’s an easy invasion route. That’s a security nightmare. It would take minutes to cut Israel in half and massacre its people.

But did Israel listen? Of course not. In 2000, Ehud Barak came back and sweetened the deal. He offered Arafat a state again. Thank God Arafat said no. And why did he say no? Because he never wanted a state, he wanted Israel gone.

Fast forward to 2005. Ariel Sharon tried another approach. He said, “Fine, let’s give them a test run.” So he pulled every single Jew out of Gaza, 70,000 settlers, forcibly removed. He even went so far as to dig up Jewish graves to ensure Gaza was 100% Judenrein. No excuses left. The Palestinians had a chance to prove they could run a state.

So what did they do? Did they build hospitals, schools, and infrastructure? Did they work on nation-building? Did they take this golden opportunity and create a thriving mini-state to prove to the world that they were ready for independence?

Nope. Instead, they turned Gaza into a terrorist launchpad. Since 2005, Gaza has been a rocket factory, a jihadist training camp, and a tunnel network straight out of a horror movie. Billions in aid poured in, and instead of building a future, Hamas built weapons to destroy Israel.

So let’s go back to the original question: Who was right, the dreamers who kept offering the Palestinians a state or Bibi Netanyahu, who warned them this would be a disaster?

The answer is clear. Bibi was right. The Palestinians never cared about statehood. They only cared about destroying the Jewish state.

And this is the part most people don’t want to say out loud: This conflict was never about “occupation.” That was always a lie. The West Bank and Gaza are just convenient excuses. The real issue is Islamic jihad.

Bibi understands this better than anyone. The people Israel has been negotiating with for decades don’t want borders. They want annihilation. It’s not about compromise. It’s about erasing Israel from the map.

So, no, the two-state solution isn’t “dying.” It’s already dead. And it’s been dead since the first time Israel tried to make peace with people who don’t believe in peace.

Remember all the concrete brought in from N Korea, and all the various funding from the UN and USAID for … whatever?

It all went into underground tunnels and bomb proofing military installations.

Almost none of it went into anything for the Gaza refugees.

And they were not refugees from Israel but from the Arab nations.

What befuddles me is the high percentage of Israelis who still believe that “land for peace” BS. It’s like a mental illness.

...the two-state solution is dead, stone cold.

It's always been dead. There is only two things upon which both Jews and Islamists agree: It's one country and it's theirs.

At that point, the world has a choice.

One of those two sides has shown tolerance for the Other. The other side has demonstrated total barbarism, with full intent of global dominion.

At that point, the world has a choice.

The two state solution is just a construct of the US state department.

Could’ve had that in the west bank but arafat said no.

Palestinians only want one palestinian state with no jews.

Gaza and West Bank fully belong to Israel. At a minimum, these are spoils of war.

Yep. An old saying: Every problem has a solution. Well, that saying doesn’t apply here. There are simply no (reasonable) solutions. The Muslims are now way too radical.

So it’s either endless war or one side will annihilate the other.

The West Bank should simply be a non-voting Israeli territory forever, run by a military governor.
Do not annex it into Israel, do not give it ANY sort of government. And any Palestinian with a weapon gets shot dead on the spot.
No Palestinian cops, nothing. If hey don’t like it... leave.

Perhaps an education failure. Thos who fail to remember history are doomed to repeat it.

Maybe a bunch of 20-somethings who are ignorant. But I repeat myself...

The Muslims are now way too radical.

By our standards, maybe, but native Islam has always been that "radical." So is native Judaism. From Deuteronomy 12:

5 But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name there for his dwelling. To that place you must go; 6 there bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, what you have vowed to give and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. 7 There, in the presence of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you. 8 You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit, 9 since you have not yet reached the resting place and the inheritance the Lord your God is giving you. 10 But you will cross the Jordan and settle in the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and he will give you rest from all your enemies around you so that you will live in safety. 11 Then to the place the Lord your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name-there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, and all the choice possessions you have vowed to the Lord. 12 And there rejoice before the Lord your God-you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites from your towns who have no allotment or inheritance of their own. 13 Be careful not to sacrifice your burnt offerings anywhere you please. 14 Offer them only at the place the Lord will choose in one of your tribes, and there observe everything I command you. The above is read annually in every Synagogue. That "place I shall appoint" where G_d "will put my Name," is now occupied by the Dome of the Rock. The world has been acting out that prophecy against ever since the promises of Genesis 16:10-14.

To my mind, the "god" of Hagar was Satan himself. There is no earthly solution, and never has been.

70,000 Jews. They should not be allowed to return either. Look at that murdered hostage. 80+ years old and a ‘peace activist’, meaning he was a lamb who trusted
the lion.

Too many Amy Biel’s out there. They’re no help.

“That ‘place I shall appoint’... is now occupied by the Dome of the Rock.”

The courtyard of the temple has always been a place where Gentiles were allowed to come (the temple being “a house of prayer for all people”). It is prophesied regarding the third temple that the courtyard will not be under Jewish control.

Revelation 11:2 NKJV
But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.

I suspect this means the Temple Mount will have a power-sharing agreement that will probably include Muslims. Time will tell.

In 1947 during the talks of establishing Israel before the Arabs in the new Jewish state to be formed were forced to leave. There was talk of establishing Israel with everybody as part of the new Jewish state Palestinians included. The Zionist rejected that because they didn’t want any Palestinians in the new Israel state. So there was a window of opportunity at one point at the very beginning and it was dismissed and thrown away.
The whole thing has been one big complicated mess with no chance of a solution

Actually, most all of you posting here don’t really understand the entire history. The history of the Zionist movement goes back at least 130 years and you have to understand it to understand where we are now.

So if you’re really interested, I can recommend a book. I read a few months ago that gave me a whole different perspective on the whole thing and I would urge any of you in history to read this book.
