For 50 years I was firmly seated in the smoking section, but lung cancer has placed mt in the non-smoking section no. So it’s only a matter of time now. Though it’s been about 5 years since I lost the top of my right lung after it was surgically removed. 🤣

This sounds like the best possible advice; that is to rely on the Lord. Nothing else would likely help even a little. Of course, one should be relying on the Lord even if an event such as described never happens. One day will come the Time of Tribulation & if you haven’t relied on the Lord before that happens, it will most likely be much too late.

Why do I get the feeling that I wouldn’t get power out of my solar panels, after this type of eruption?
Yes, non-smokers get lung cancer also while some smokers never get it, even heavy smokers. We all have cancer cells, it's just a matter of what triggers them into becoming active. Some are either lucky enough to never come across what might trigger it within them, or their immune systems cover it when they are triggered.
I've always wondered how some people can fall a distance that would kill a vast majority of people, but survive. I'm talking about skydivers who parachutes never open, yet they survive.
