'All Wars End Through Negotiation': US Envoy Kellogg Tells Wounded Ukrainian Soldiers In Kyiv When Asked About Russia
Times of India ^ | 2/22/2025 | World Desk

-snip-

A moment came when another soldier, Denis, asked Kellogg if he could pose a question.

“He’s earned that right,” Kellogg responded.

Denis then asked, “In your opinion, can we trust Russia? That they will negotiate?”

Kellogg pointed out that throughout history, “all wars end through negotiation.”

“The ultimate victory on the battlefield ends with diplomacy, and today’s world is no different,” he said. “I think a better question would be can you trust the people that you are with to make sure that they’re with you? It’s sort of like you ask a deeper question — are you with us? And the answer is, yes, we are.”

He acknowledged the hardships faced by Ukrainian troops, stating that their sacrifices had given politicians and diplomats time to find a lasting resolution.

“That’s the reason why your sacrifice [matters.] You’ve given us time to make the right [deal],” Kellogg said.

Denis, however, voiced concerns that even after negotiations, Ukraine might only have a brief period of peace before facing war again.

“To which Kellogg replied, “Well I think the intent is there’ll be no next war.”

Denis responded, “We hope for that.”

“Me too,” Kellogg said.

I dont care what happens to ukraine..or russia.

As long as we are not wasting money on ukraine anymore.

And we are not. Not a dime, thank goodness.

And Trump is a genius, trying to get even MORE than we gave to them in mineral worth.

Why not? 100 billion was stolen by z and his cronies..he’s lucky he’s not dragged here and charged...piece of garbage that he is.

Not all wars end through negotiations. Sometimes they end through unconditional surrender.

Sort of the opposite of negotiating

nobody cares. If Ukraine is ruled from Moscow or Kyiv it means nothing to me. Good luck to them.

Bannon pointed out that Kellogg was there for the distraction - that he has no role in the actual peace negotiations. This second misstep by Kellogg seems to support Bannon’s take.

--- "A moment came ...."

Personal anecdotes, as the media records for posterity. Or for the moment soon to be forgotten....

Kellogg sings, as Times of India reports -- "Curtain up! Light the lights! You got nothing to hit but the depths! You'll be scarred. You'll be maimed. I can tell. No one's blamed. Some lucky star I talk about is due! Denis, everything's coming up minerals for me and for you!"

"Kellogg later described the visit as 'emotional' in a" theatrical review....

Denis goes back to the prop table.....

A soldier’s duty is to weaken the opposing country’s will to fight, allowing diplomacy to bring the war to an end. If the war does not come to an end, it is a failure of diplomacy (politicians).

It is also the responsibility of politicians if they hinder the soldier from fulfilling their duty.

When was that? And what were the circumstances?

Except for the wars that end with total conquest.

The Russian military totally failed in this war. That’s a fact. Get some facts before you comment.

When was that? And what were the circumstances?

The beat chance was back in 2022 after the Battle of Kyiv. The Russians were disorganized and at their weakest.

“In your opinion, can we trust Russia? That they will negotiate?”

You can't trust the Russians. They will likely negotiate for now, but there is no guarantee they will adhere to whatever the agreement is in the future.

Wars never end until the enemy is totally defeated.

Technically, we're still at war with N. Korea and there is still no official peace treaty ending it.
