TAMPA – The Boss must be spinning in his grave.
Hal Steinbrenner announced Friday morning that the Yankees are getting rid of their long-standing facial hair policy, moving to allow “well-groomed beards moving forward.”

George is spinning in his grave because the Yankees haven’t won a title since 2009, and Aaron Boone is still manager.
sometimes they still use it.
“In the past twenty years you have caused myself, and the city of New York, a good deal of distress, as we have watched you take our beloved Yankees and reduced them to a laughing stock, all for the glorification of your massive ego!”
No
I agree! Beards and tattoos are a turnoff for me, too! I always wonder what might be living in the beard and how it must smell. Cootie garages! ICK!
“I dislike facial hair”
For me it depends on the final look. Once upon a time it was more laborious to shave and so that must have influenced the choice for an unshaved face.
Now it’s purely a matter of what someone thinks becomes them, or what message they want to send about themself.
You responded again! :-)
Yes,100 years ago it might have been difficult to shave. But not today.
Not likely IMHO.
There must be a reason behind it. Are they trying to sign somebody?
Just signed two year extension ugh
Hire this man!
I’m with you 100%. Modern beard styles make everyone look homeless.
I love language and slang in particular.
I have always been puzzled by the “sexism” in regard to tattoos.
A tattoo on a woman has often been referred to as a “tramp stamp”.
In my very conservative upbringing, tattoos on anyone was looked down upon.
Although my father a WWII veteran had a curious take.
He seemed to give sailors a pass as he said that is was sailors do they get a tattoo when they travel to different ports.
Some of them got more than that :)
The earliest ones were all clean-shaven.
John Quincy Adams (#6) was the first to sport prominent sideburns.
Abe Lincoln (#16) was the first bearded president.
Most of the presidents from Ulysses Grant (#18) through William Howard Taft (#27) had beards and/or mustaches. William McKinley (#25) was the lone exception.
Starting with Woodrow Wilson, every president to this day has been clean-shaven again.
From at least 1900 onward, presidential facial hair has generally followed military protocols. Facial hair was common among soldiers from the mid-1800s through the early 1900s. Military regulations began to prohibit facial hair around the time of World War I -- ostensibly because a beard would likely interfere with a gas mask.
J.D. Vance is the first bearded VP since the 1920s.
Thanks to penicillin we still won the war.
“I must say, with all due respect, I find it very hard to see the logic behind some of the moves you have made with this fine organization.”
😂 I love a good Seinfeld reference
I’m with you are the beard crap.
American men are now almost indistinguishable from Islamic terrorists.
And American women are putting up with it.
The Yankees might concentrate on winning. They haven’t been doing too well at it in this century.
Several of us went out one Saturday night and one or two of the guys said "hey, let's get a tattoo". So we went to a parlor and two of them got one. They were telling me that I should get one.I didn't want to so I made the excuse that I didn't have any money. They almost convinced me...but I'm glad they didn't.
