[VANITY] The next Obama-like prodigy has emerged for 2028 presidential race: Ro Khanna - CA, Dem

As a vanity, this qualifies as my political prediction for the 2028 presidential race.

Rohit Khanna, aka Ro Khanna is the Dem rep for their 17th district.

I was listening to Fox News on Sirius this AM and heard him interviewed. Not sure who from what network did the interview, but I think it was Fox.

Point is, he came across as rational, moderate, sincere, well-spoken, intelligent, personable, and willing to criticize the existing Democrat party, end-to-end. (Dare I say clean and articulate?) He is of Indian descent. He could give Vivek Ramaswamy a good fight for who is the smoothest, the most glib. He was like an NPR radio host without the insufferable smugness.

He focused on creating a positive message that appeals to all Americans, as opposed to identity politics.

*IF* you didn't know who he was, listening to him you could have thought he was a 1980s Reagan republican.

I recall watching Obama speak speak at the Dem convention in Boston, 2004 and telling my wife - "he will be the next winning Democrat candidate."

Well, I am posting my prediction here -- Ro Khanna will be the next winning Dem presidential candidate.

“rational, moderate, sincere“

If this describes Harold and Ro they can never get the nomination.

AOC or Adam Schiff are more likely candidates.

Is he an independent thinker or is he a weak minded follower? Democrats need the latter because for them, the person in the White House is a figurehead that needs to do as told.

Didn’t say he wasn’t a leftist loon. He was a staunch Bernie supporter.

Point is as a candidate - a puppet-facade - he’d make a good one for the Dems.

Sincerity NOT required for Dems. Just capture the women and enough independents.

The “D” next to anyone’s name means one thing.

Disqualified.

That’s a credible choice for the as-is Dems, or Shapiro from PA.

I can just see this dude clearing a path through the old guard like Clinton and Obama did.

My wife and I were living in Texarkana when he was governor and when he declared for the Presidential run. We LOL’d. We knew the guy; had his only special room at the rear of the Capital BBQ joint for lunch-time ‘meetings,’ guarded by state troopers. A LOT of us thought it was laughable - knock yourself out dude.

Next thing ya know ...

As a distraction point, I’d like to see Byron Donalds be considered to be on the ticket with Vance in 28. Maybe AFTER he serves as Fl governor...

Not saying I *like* his positions. But by 2028 he will be able to say he has grown since then and America has moved on, and he with America. HE would likely campaign against trans in women sports ... and then govern differently.

I think the Rats are done with women and minority POTUS candidates for awhile.

He’s the ONLY token Dem on that show who has been likeable.

Ah yes. And that reminds of another doppelgänger, sort of....

His deliberate brand is independent, grass roots, ‘can’t be bought by special interests’. He’s like a more agreeable, younger Bernie in this regard.

But let the big money meet with him and explain the game, and will gladly sew on the puppeteer strings.

If Ro Khanna’s parents were foreigners here on student visas when he was born I don’t think he is eligible to be president.

20 years ago I thought Harold Ford, Jr. , would eventually be a Dem presidential nominee and, probably president. Can’t recall off the top of my head what kerfluffle put him off track.

Ford would be formidable, very formidable … but now far too centrist and SANE!

I’m hoping that the days of first-term Senate wunderkinds...Hillary, Obama, Kamala...being taken seriously as presidential/VP candidates are nearing an end. Same for mayors (sorry, Pete) and Congressional Reps. Then I remember that hope is not a battle plan, and when stacked against the rapid leftist electorate, is actually pretty useless.

The DIMs are intent on forcing another "woman" to be president.

If twice you don't succeed, but crash and burn, try again forever and blame everyone else for your failures as the DIM saying goes...

Sounds like a real winner... From Wikipedia

“Khanna endorsed Bernie Sanders for president of the United States in 2016.[1] In 2020, Khanna co-chaired the Bernie Sanders 2020 presidential campaign.”
