[VANITY] The next Obama-like prodigy has emerged for 2028 presidential race: Ro Khanna - CA, Dem

As a vanity, this qualifies as my political prediction for the 2028 presidential race.

Rohit Khanna, aka Ro Khanna is the Dem rep for their 17th district.

I was listening to Fox News on Sirius this AM and heard him interviewed. Not sure who from what network did the interview, but I think it was Fox.

Point is, he came across as rational, moderate, sincere, well-spoken, intelligent, personable, and willing to criticize the existing Democrat party, end-to-end. (Dare I say clean and articulate?) He is of Indian descent. He could give Vivek Ramaswamy a good fight for who is the smoothest, the most glib. He was like an NPR radio host without the insufferable smugness.

He focused on creating a positive message that appeals to all Americans, as opposed to identity politics.

*IF* you didn't know who he was, listening to him you could have thought he was a 1980s Reagan republican.

I recall watching Obama speak speak at the Dem convention in Boston, 2004 and telling my wife - "he will be the next winning Democrat candidate."

Well, I am posting my prediction here -- Ro Khanna will be the next winning Dem presidential candidate.

Some folks think Harold Ford, Jr is the best bet for the Democrats. But since he’s not a radical, he doesn’t stand a chance.

No Democrats from California.

The democrats have not reached a point yet where they will pinup a Presidential candidate who doesn’t toe the far left line.

Don’t think Harold has the passion to do it. *BUT* Harold is likeable.

He might be TOO MAGA-adjacent for the Dems to choose him. He’s pretty good on The Five as a Dem.

I agree.

THIS guy is ‘not like the others’.

He’s a tad scary to listen to.

I’m hoping that things revealed by DOGE in the coming months will completely reshape the playing field.

The path they are on is one that erodes the Dem power. The behind-the-scenes money people won’t let that continue.

Khanna is the perfect puppet who can deliver a winning message to gullible people, enough to get the win.

After the win, the Dems will revert to type - they always do.

Ro Khanna? Nope. He reminds of young Rowan Atkinson, a bit. Less amusing.

Ro Khanna only seems rational when compared the chorus of loony leftists that run the Democrat Party. It’s just a facade. He’s a loon, too.

Good point. Perhaps push it to 2032.

Khanna would CRUSH Harris in any one-on-one appearance.

I see Ford on Fox’s The Five a lot. He seems like he’d be a real contender.

I do as well. DOGE will not only uncover the roaches so we can watch them run, it will de-fund HUGE sums of money that previously flow to getting Dems elected.

Khanna is likely DOGE-clean.

... and articulate ;-)

LOL.

But never underestimate your enemy, or the people (women voters) who love them.

They will go with Beshear, because they need a Bill Clinton slick type to bring back the center.

He is connected and has a decent resume, but only as a one-term congress critter.

Still ...

He and Khanna would help the Dems resurrect the race card(c) on demand.
