According to the company, it is relocating its KFC U.S. corporate offices to Plano, Texas, where the Pizza Hut headquarters is.
In all, the company's latest move will affect 100 corporate roles and 90 remote positions.
Yum! officials said the corporate roles will relocate to Texas over the next six months. The remote jobs will have to relocate to wherever their work happens over the next 18 months.
So, what's behind the move? Here's what the brand said in a news release.
“These changes position us for sustainable growth and will help us better serve our customers, employees, franchisees and shareholders,” said David Gibbs, Yum! Brands Chief Executive Officer. “Ultimately, bringing more of our people together on a consistent basis will maximize our unrivaled culture and talent as a competitive advantage. I’m confident this is another important step in growing our iconic restaurant brands globally.”

Kentucky seems a bit blue, so they undoubtedly have taxes and costs that are making them uncompetitive.
This is why it’s important to have the best policies you can have for your state, because a company has decided that they can give up their infrastructure to re-locate it’s unlikely they can be talked our of it, especially if they’ve invested in a building in their new location.
No thinking person wants to live with Democrats!
Why?
The last 2 times I stopped at the KFC a mile east of here the food was so bad I tossed it in the garbage. They have since gone out of business. There is another one a mile west. They should be concerned with quality not headquarters.
Will they change the name to TFC?
It CERTAINLY doesn’t know how to vote for a decent Republican Senator..... just sayin’
TFC?
Agreed. We avoid KFC like the plague. I recall the early 80’s or so that place was always packed with customers. The chicken, the gravy, the coleslaw was all very good. Then there was a recipe change maybe in the early 90’s and ever since it sucked and ever since they’ve lost customers.
The same happened to Banquet frozen chicken in grocery stores. They could not keep it in stock. In this case they were bought out and again the product was changed to the point to where it just sucked.
I don’t care if KFC moves or goes out of business or not.
Coke did the same thing a few decades back where they completely changed their product. The difference is they learned and went back to the original product.
Because democrats are non-thinking persons.
A bit blue? Maybe for the governor, who is apparently charismatic and not so leftist. Trump won KY by a ton and the Republican senators win pretty easily as well. And the state legislature is overwhelmingly Republican.
Trump was overwhelming, that cannot be used to determine Kentucky’s political leanings. Does Trump’s inroads in New York mean that New York became more red?
It’s the only I can explain McConnell is that he has a lot of support from liberals.
To be fair, I can see Kentucky has been becoming more red, compared with 1984.
But the West End expanded east and is now worse than ever. I wouldn't be surprised if KFC left because it's just unsafe.
my brother is considering moving his company headquarters to Texas
because of taxes
No kidding. I used to call on the original Reynolds facility on the west side and couldn't wait to get out of there. The only thing that helped that side of town is it butted up against the river making it small.
Yep - KFC went downhill for years and I stopped using them....but we have a local one that’s pretty good again....many went all “affirmative action” on their hires and a lot of the workers were lazy and incompetent - interesting note - here in S. MS, many fast food places are Black run and staffed - and doing a geat job.
Texas Fried Chicken, since it will no longer be based in Kentucky.
“No thinking person wants to live with Democrats!”
The reason I left Wisconsin. There are things that are missed, but not enough to put up with the mental left.
Yum! needs to be broken up.
