Elon Musk considers 'DOGE dividend' that would send $5,000 check to all Americans following massive budget cuts
Daily Mail ^ | 2-18-25 | Stephen Lepore

Musk replied, curious, but said that he 'will check with the President.'

Fishback added: 'American taxpayers deserve a 'DOGE Dividend': 20% the money that DOGE saves should be sent back to hard-working Americans as a tax refund check.'

'It was their money in the first place! At $2 trillion in DOGE savings and 78 million tax-paying households, this is a $5,000 refund per household, with the remaining used to pay down the national debt. Elon Musk, let's do this! This is how we rebuild trust in our government.'

A dividend check... tax-free I hope! Otherwise I don’t want the damn thing the last thing I need is unexpected tax headaches.

Never, EVER trust the weaponized mental retardation and American hatred of the left.

I remember when Barney Frank was in the middle of his boyfriend operating a male escort service out of Barney’s home and Mass people were being questioned. The general consensus was for ‘Barney to keep on doing what he is doing’.

Even when libs are questioned and asked to give opinions of Republican’s quotes or actions and they answer how disgusting Republicans are but, when finding out it was actually a democrat’s words or actions, they REFUSE to answer the same way that they did about Republicans.

Their thinking is not of intelligence but of childish emotions.

Wow, a most excellent post. I’m 33 years in finance. All of what you say is so true. Sad truth is we need deflation and the pain that goes with it. Americans need their work ethic restored. I’m in Thailand now. These people work.

I think a flat tax really makes sense. Partly for the fact it would require virtually no irs employees. The idea of having the most complicated tax system in the world and hundreds of thousands too stupid to do the job of collecting…

Since Elon is a taxpayer, the media will spin this by saying he is personally profiting from the DOGE money.

Thinking that somehow some of the money really needs to be applied to the outrageous national debt.

As usual, of course, you are right as rain, nathanbedford.

BUT, if I am forced to take the check, I want President Trump’s big bold signature right on it. :)

Put any cash surplus in a reserve

Sooner or later a Democrat will be in charge, and/or Dems in majority, and any "reserve" is a cookie jar. Paying down the debt sounds nice but they'll just run it up again.

The best use of the funds is whatever discredits them the most, and prevents further abuse the best.

Maybe build more federal prisons for corruptocrats. ;)

Or on my wish list, buy land. Panama, Canada, Greenland...

Just take the money and pay down the damn debt already. It is not the responsibility of govt to be Santa

I played Santa once. Paid off someone's debts (including hefty debts to the IRS and the Mob) and told them to tear up all the credit cards. Guess what happened.

Nope, I don't trust government with a surplus of my money. They need to do both.
