Papal politics portrayed by a political rag. Two thousand years+ and much scriptural and traditional “deposit of faith,” and this is all about trying to lock in “reform?” Reform of what exactly?
Francis turned from the Church acting in the world, to the Church acted upon by the world.

A Pope doesn't get to choose his own successor. And if this Pope has taught us anything, it's that the current Pope can disregard and contradict what his successors taught.
That said, I pray for the man's soul, that God may grant him moments of clarity in his last days that he might fix some of the messes he has made and focus on leading souls to Christ, as is his mandate as Pontiff.
