"Trump understands that if we don’t manufacture in America, we’re just everyone else’s b*tch."

"Trump instinctively understands this in a way that the globalist elites do not. They thought outsourcing everything was great. They’re against tariffs—why would you produce in a less efficient economy when you can manufacture wherever it’s cheapest according to global market dynamics? The problem is, they forgot that once you stop making things and your companies no longer produce anything, you lose all leverage—you’ve handed it away to everyone else."

"Shouldn’t we wake up every day thinking, ‘Holy sh*t, everything I have right now is because Xi Jinping hasn’t decided to screw us yet’? And he will do it. People think the first strike in a conflict will be a Chinese warship firing on a U.S. ship in the Taiwan Strait. That’s not the first move. The first move will be Xi calling his allies in the U.S. and saying, ‘If the U.S. government tries to fight back, I will destroy your economy. I’ll do it tomorrow. I’ll revoke all your special waivers, seize your factories, nationalize your workers, and then sell iPhones to the entire world while you become irrelevant overnight.’ That’s the real threat he holds over us."

Almost ALL of us here thought that same way 25 years ago.

We had no idea (some did, I’m sure) that it would get so out of control for so long!

We wanted access to the cheapest goods..NO tarriffs...

Times change.

Great countries change with them

Free trade happened for 100 years in America in the 1800’s.

And the Free Market is what made America the wealthiest and most powerful nation going into the 1900’s.

I’m talking about the immoral greed of your original post. I’m talking about what this posted article is talking about.

There is no “one world government”, so there is no “free market economy”. The government of China enslaves its people. You want to do business with it to save a buck.

Trump, at least, understands the imbalance.

You mean to tell me we didn’t have any tariffs during that time?

Unleashing the energy sector alone could change the entire domestic and international paradigm. We have so much stuff lying underground. And discovering more and more. How about the recently discovered huge lithium deposits, which Biden refused to develop. He prefers importing it from Africa where it is mined using child labor, where children sometimes as young as 4 work in the mines.

Given the current state of the world, with China and the Globalists clearly conspiring to control a global economy to the detriment of America, I think any faith in the traditional “free market” is beyond foolish.

Rather than lean toward a “free market”, I would much rather lean toward Autarky. Let’s see how self-sufficient we can be. It’s a more achievable goal than a “free market” is.

dfwgator, nothing is perfect but America was an essentially a free nation during the 1800’s and the free market thrived. Of course there were tariffs used by and large to fund the gov’t.

You’re falling into the Leftist trap of killing the goose that laid the golden egg because the goose isn’t perfect. Nothing is perfect but America thrived in the 1800’s with a great deal of freedom and free trade and by it, came into the 1900’s the wealthiest, freest, and strongest nation in the world.

Freedom and the Free Market Economy WORKS!!!

We need all kinds of manufacturing jobs, with out them we are at everyone’s mercy if we have to fight another major war. Without the strong manufacturing base we had during ww2 we would have lost the war.

Thriving and constitutionally-protected freedom and free market may not be perfect, but are way ahead of whatever’s in second place.

When you have a manufacturing base the ripple effect is seen in every aspect of our society. It is crucial to every business we have! Fuel, transportation and everything else associated with people being employed so as the factories and services supporting the making of goods. Also what used to be long lasting durable goods are now cheaply made computerized items that are planned to fail at a certain time and repair costs far surpass an item that used to last decades...it should be a matter of National security to be able to make anything that we need.

The motor vehicle business needs to be financially balanced by nation as the US & Canadian auto industry was in my youth.

The US needs to go to a blocked currency like India has. The Russians selling oil to India have been told they can buy Indian goods and services in exchange for that oil.

Recreating manufacturing jobs in Midwestern cities will revive them and help relieve the housing price and homeless problems of US coastal cities.

We can’t continue forever to run federal fiscal deficits to fill the currency drain of trade deficits.

Xi Jinping couldn’t destroy the US economy if he tried.

Nothing they make using their slave or near slave labor can’t be made anywhere else.

There are things made in US, Taiwan, Japan, Europe that are basically sole source, can’t be made anywhere else without tech transfer.

Nothing like that is made in China.

China is simply a reservoir of labor that’s the chiicoms made a deal with the deep state to allow to be exploited.

“And it takes 10 years to get all the permits.”

Have the permit applicants and permit reviewers set up shop in a hotel.

They don’t get to leave the hotel or get a visit from or to their family or friends until the permit is issued.

If the permit reviewers have to create an acceptable permit application themselves to get home, so be it.

“Nothing like that is made in China.”

China can make almost everything off-patent - i.e. almost everything made before 2005.

No nation is more self-reliant (excluding petroleum) than China.

the bottom line is this... either more money is flowing into America making us richer, or more money is flowing out of America making us poorer.
