“At its heart it has a universal message of love and acceptance,” they write. “The fact that that extends to sparkly boys seems to be controversial.”
In a brief statement to Deadline, a Kennedy Center spokesperson said, “The cancelation of the Finn tour was a purely financial decision.”

the musical’s main characters were described as “Finn: A young shark who just wants to be his true self. He loves sparkles and bright colors despite being a shark,” and “Seasil: A regal tang fish who becomes friends with Finn. Seasil wants to shake up the regal tang tradition and do a different dance for the jubilee.”

Just a coincidence that the Kennedy Center is broke.
The political opinions of Actor’s Equity are utterly irrelevant to me.
“At its heart it has a universal message of love and acceptance,” they write. “The fact that that extends to sparkly boys seems to be controversial.”
I am afraid to google sparkly boys.
Shut down all of this pandering, enabling garbage.
It’s long past time to relegate degeneracy to the dung heap of history.
Trump just fired the Kennedy Center President and appointed Richard Grenell, who was ambassador to Germany in Trump's first term. Ironically, Grenell is gay. But he's not a groomer, and cancelled this child grooming play. For the next 4 years, the Kennedy center will celebrate art, not perverts and pedophiles.
Only the government is buying tickets to attend, taxpayers can’t don’t won’t to subsidize it.
Owed: one keyboard + cleanup on vomit spewed monitor.
more subtle brainwashing of little mush minds.

Yeah—because President Trump would have fired anybody who had anything to do with the tour and that would have hit them in the wallet or purse or whatever the trannies carry these days....
Lol.
I can’t stand it. My wife saw an animated movie that she thought I might like called “THE BOY, THE MOLE, THE FOX AND THE HORSE” and it did have really interesting animation.
But everything out seems to pussify young boys and make them as emotional as little girls. They are trying to snuff out every trace of masculinity.
I was disappointed. I loved the animation, it was beautifully done. But I hated the way they portrayed the boy.
You're gonna need a bigger bathhouse.
There is a way mutually to support excellence in the arts and entertainment and do so without catering excessively to this or that ideology. But it is not easy.
The first step is to know the difference between excellence and mediocrity. Stravinsky was Russian and tested the sensitivities of the classical genre. I would have welcomed him to the KC, but some in the day would have balked.
The important things is that those who run the place run neither it nor our culture into the ground yet give space to artistic expressions a common citizen would applaud as excellent.
I repeat: not easy.
I thought it was a remake of Huckleberry Finn.
They would never show that.
Broke? They got a boatload of cash from the covid emergency fund back in .... ‘21? Didn’t they?
Good points.
The problem today is that the majority of artists are hard core leftists who are unable to separate their ideology from their art.
That makes them literally...
Enemy actors.
“...not easy...”
It seemingly has been easy for enemies of truth and beauty to degrade and tear down.
As a little kid in Catholic school, we were shown black and white movies about young saints. No sparkly boys.
Fagot shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo. Fagot shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo. Fagot shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo. Fagot shark!
