The Trump administration plans to push European allies to buy more American weapons for Ukraine ahead of potential peace talks with Moscow, said two people with knowledge of the matter, a move that could improve Kyiv's negotiating position.

In an interview on Monday with Reuters, Kellogg declined to confirm the plan but said, "The U.S. always likes selling weapons made in America because it strengthens our economy.

"There are a lot of options out there. Everything is in play right now," Kellogg said, adding that the shipments previously approved by former President Joe Biden still were flowing into Ukraine.

"There's not necessarily any need in the next 24 hours to it any different," he said.

U.S. officials have said in recent days that the Trump administration wants to recoup the billions Washington has spent on the war in Ukraine and that Europe needs to do more to help.

“I think an underlying principle here is that the Europeans have to own this conflict going forward,” U.S. national security adviser Mike Waltz said in an interview with NBC News on Sunday.

Several U.S. officials are in Europe this week to help set the stage for eventual peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

Kellogg plans to discuss with European leaders at the Munich Security Conference surging aid to Kyiv.

"I wouldn't say we're at the beginning of the [peace planning process] because we've been thinking through it," Kellogg said, adding that U.S. officials this week will meet with their European counterparts to "deliver our expectations to the allies."

"More importantly, we want to hear from them," he said.

U.S. officials also hope to formalize a mineral deal with Ukraine that would allow America access to the country's rich reserves in exchange for continued aid.

Seems that, contrary to the hopes and expectations of the pro-Russian crowd, Trump is not planning to leave Ukraine to the tender mercies of the Russians.

The only money that the US has fed toward Ukraine which will recoverable would be any money it can recover from corrupt individuals who had their corrupt fingers involved in the transfers. Lots of “green” rubbed off on those sticky fingers.

President Trump is also letting Ukraine drone the hell out of Russian oils and gas facilities. Engels/Saratov is burning right now and more Ukrainian drones are on the way.

Everything the West sends to Ukraine “ burns like all the rest”….a very good observation stated by Vlad himself and recorded video after video.

Strykers, M113’s, M777, M1 Abrams, Bradley’s, MRAP’s, Humvees, Patriots, Leopards,F-16’s, etc, etc, etc. It is becoming obvious proposed Negotiations will give way to “ the realities of the battlefield “, another stated Russian observation.

Cut ALL aid to the corrupted little man in Green, what’s so hard?

"...a move that could improve Kyiv's negotiating position."

How does Europe buying more weapons for Ukraine help with peace negotiations? Smells like moldy fish to me. Most of Europe's NATO members can't even afford to comply with budgeting 2% of their gross national product for their own defense as they previously agreed.

“I couldn’t care less what Europe does.”

I’m with you, but I am interested to see just how important stopping Putin’s MAD RUSH TO THE ENGLISH CHANNEL (as the Zeepers keep claiming, ad nauseam) is for Europeans, now that they have to put their money where their lies are.

The U.S. always likes selling weapons made in America because it strengthens our economy

Well, at least Trump has advanced to the point of being open about the graft behind the Ukraine op: "We're just in it for the $$$."

While bullying overseas dependencies might be a step up from bilking taxpayers out to enrich the MIC, it still is a losing proposition for everyone in the long run.

excellent point, and a decent beta test for European war mongers who are used to pointing Uncle Sam to the front line.

Here’s one for you. Apparently Trump doesn’t care who, exactly, is in possession of the Ukrainian “Rare Earth”, but he wants $500B of it. I remember his initial quote never quite stated who he would be receiving the “Rare Earth” from. The Zeepers implied Ukraine, of course, but now we know that he doesn’t care, he just wants the “Rare Earth”.
