Google still editing requests.

Just for grins, I typed in "how many audits did Obama order?"

It didn't answer the question. Not even close. But there were plenty of lines peripheral to the subject of auditing in general.

Pity we can't require something that functions as a public utility to actually serve the public. Private business, and all.

Even when searching for only very ordinary information - e.g., the distance between two geographical locations, etc. - I make a point of phrasing it in an overspecific fashion. Try reformulating it a few times. Try "tricking" ChatGPT by first asking a similar, but politically "innocent" question.

Don't give up!

It is sometimes possible to even "force" ChatGPT to apologize and admit that it made a mistake (for what it's worth).

Regards,

They’re not gonna stop it until they’re made to stop it, legally in court.

Any search of an issue positive to Trump or negative to democrats, the list of suggested search terms disappears.

It will still search, it just makes it look like it’s not a topic with any results.

Then of course the actual search results will have all the liberal news articles first, if the conservative ones even show up.

Google is worthless. It’s front page is nothing but ads now. Every search is so littered with ads. They are facing extinction by the myriad AI search engines. The irony is none of thosse AI search engines will make a buck for the foreseeable future.

Agreed.

The singular benefit of google search is the time feature.

Omitting zero’s name and isolating search to that period will likely produce results evading their filters.

I don’t expect Google to answer the question. It is a search engine so I expect to see a list of links to other sites.

Why in Gawd’s name do you use Google? For anything? They are directly controlled by the CCP, no joke. You expect anything logical, much less truthful from commies?

Interesting factoid…

The comptroller general has the responsibility to audit the financial statements that the treasury secretary and the Office of Management and Budget director present to the Congress and the president. For every fiscal year since 1996, when consolidated financial statements began, the comptroller general has refused to endorse the accuracy of the consolidated figures for the federal budget, citing "(1) serious financial management problems at the Department of Defense, (2) the federal government’s inability to adequately account for and reconcile intragovernmental activity and balances between federal agencies, and (3) the federal government’s ineffective process for preparing the consolidated financial statements."

It may be a private business, but it’s a monopoly, and it can not be allowed to control the free flow of information.

Why has no one else come up with an alternative?

President Obama did not personally order audits. However, during his administration, there was a significant increase in certain types of audits, particularly those related to immigration enforcement and tax-exempt organizations.

In terms of immigration enforcement, the number of I-9 audits (paperwork audits of employers to verify compliance with employment eligibility laws) increased dramatically. These audits soared from 503 in 2008 to more than 8,000 in 2009[1]. This was part of a shift in strategy to focus on employers rather than employees in immigration enforcement.

Regarding tax-exempt organizations, between 2010 and 2012, there was a controversial increase in scrutiny of certain groups applying for 501(c)(4) status. This led to what became known as the IRS targeting controversy[3]. However, it’s important to note that this was not directly ordered by Obama, and he called for accountability when the issue came to light.

It’s worth mentioning that presidents themselves are subject to audits. The IRS routinely audited Obama’s tax returns once he took office, as they do for all sitting presidents[6].

If memory serves correctly: Google was started with a grant from the DOD. They will stay loyal to their masters. There’s bound to be other agencies involved as well.

This morning I searched for a photo of President Trump surrounded by a large group of young girls gathered to witness the signing of the EO prohibiting transgender athletes to participate as females in sports

Such a photo was not found on Google or Bing.

I had to go to Grok to get the devistating photo
