President Trump is angling for a massive payout from CBS – significantly more than what he accepted from ABC and Meta – to settle his $10 billion lawsuit over alleged election interference, The Post has learned.
Sources with knowledge of the negotiations told The Post that Trump’s lawyers are poised to ask for as much as nine figures – a sum that would vastly exceed the $16 million recently paid by ABC and the $25 million doled out by Meta in recent weeks.
The two sides began “very preliminary” discussions last week over the controversial “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris, which Trump has claimed was deceptively edited to boost the Democrat in the presidential race.
Trump’s team has yet to propose a settlement offer to Paramount, a source with knowledge of the negotiations told The Post.
But a source close to Trump’s legal team said he would not be surprised if the president demanded $100 million — or more.
“Is $100 million or $150 million a possibility? I don’t see why not,” the source said.
The expected nine-figure opening salvo from Team Trump would be similar to the hard-knuckle negotiating tactics used by his legal team against ABC in its defamation suit after star anchor George Stephanopoulos insisted that Trump was “found liable of rape,” the source added.
Those negotiations involved Donald Trump Jr., according to the insider.

Oh well. I might take less of a settlement, if CBS had to publicly state that they were liars and were trying to frame Trump.
I’m glad Trump is collecting on this lawsuit. It may serve to make liberal media a bit more cautious in providing fair treatment to both parties.
Trump may see these lawsuits, mostly as a way to stay in practice, sort of like Skeet shooting. There is no shortage of targets, and they have lost their fear of being challenged.
At the very least they should try to get back the money USAID gave to CBS.
BTTT
AND admit they were trying to steal the election for the potato!
“Oh well. I might take less of a settlement, if CBS had to publicly state that they were liars and were trying to frame Trump.”
I would accept a version of it. Perhaps Trump gives CBS a list of 10 topics that they CLEARLY lied to the country about, or otherwise deceived the country (Harris interview, RussiaGate, RatherGate, etc.) and makes them LEAD THEIR NEWS with at least 60 seconds detailing what they did and admitting that they were trying to deceive the public. Then maybe give them a break on payment.
The goal here is to try to get their still significant viewers to understand that they engage in deception on a regular basis, as the viewers are STILL clueless to that.
If no deal, then I’d prefer a 10-digit payout...or giving Musk control of the network, the entire network.
500m and an apology.
“AND admit they were trying to steal the election for the potato!”
Wait. Which one was the “potato”?
Make it a mid-ten figure amount, then we can talk . . .
Should make ending 60s Minutes and firing it on air personalities a condition.
Trump to CBS lawyers, “FAFO”.
Forget the money for the time being.
CBS should lose its broadcast license.
That license BINDS them to operate in the public good.
They didn’t.
No more license.
CBS, ABC, CNN, NBC will never learn anything.
“ 500m and an apology.”
or 800m and no apology! An apology would not be genuine anyway.
Paramount is at $10, down nearly 90% from 2021 high.
Trump, bankrupt them!
...getting tax money back any way he can!
Only stations have licenses. CBS doesn’t as a network and only 15 of the network stations are owned by CBS.
You are correct.
But those 15 stations are in the largest cities in America.
They don’t own a station in Atlanta, Houston and Seattle but just every about every major city but those.
Trump has said that he wants CBS taken off the air.
A forced sale of those 15 stations would probably do the trick.
