Unknown operating system got me thinking.

My first “online” computer was Microsoft’s Web TV.

Hooked it up to dial-up.

I remember navigating Free Republic on Web TV.

Not sure what the operating system was, some variation of windows I guess.

Here is the deal... They can’t even claim to know how many Linux desktops are actually out there. And here is why. There is a record of EVERY MS and OS X install out there. This is NOT true with Linux. Because all they can do is track “downloads”. Downloads are not an accurate indicator because a Linux user can distribute that one same download onto 20 computers if they like. Between myself, family and friends I have distributed one download to 20 computers at a least.

And I am just one user with one download. Every Linux user does the exact same thing. So for these stats counters to claim they know is misrepresentation. The purposely exclude this very real unknown distribution factor.

They missed the 3 XP PCs I’m using. I keep them running to use 2+ decade old AutoCad software that will only run on XP. These are virus free since they’re never connected to the internet. The only problem has been the time, or 2 that I experienced a hardware failure. It has become difficult to reinstall XP since Microsoft no longer activates it. It has become slightly difficult to do that. All of the software has been legally purchased, and the seller can’t legally change the terms of the sales agreement once it’s sold.

A lot of stuff on the internet is connected to Bluetooth and could be similar to home electronics like Arduino. They are rolling out the replacement for Bluetooth.

I know one thing. The industries efforts to make Linux look bad is still not going to take away all those problems with Microsoft...

It is a psyops effort to claim we don’t have a choice, so may as well just bend over and submit to MS.

I only use Windows 11 for my desktops and laptops. I never use my Samsung phone for banking and internet.
I finally got a 10” Android tablet. So I will get to see the internet the Fisher-Price way. The clown world way. Experimenting of course.
