“Forgot to mention, I didn’t realize there were low blue light monitors”

These have been around for at least 5 years. But they do lo-blue light via software. So does Dell when you see a Dell “comfort view” monitor.

Dell now has automatic, all the time lo-blue light, in their monitors called “comfort view Plus”. These are much improved due to being hardware based lo-blue light. Such as being backlit with special low blue light LEDs.
This monitor has “comfort view Plus”...... Bought it last December because I also wanted QHD upgrade from the FHD I have used 4 years. —— https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D3FGFPPB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Sorry to repeat but that monitor was $120 new at Christmastime. But I went cheaper to snag an Amazon warehouse return for $104. Same Dell one year warranty as new. I screenshot to save all that fine print to be sure.

I went to Dell warranty check site yesterday with my monitors serial number. This confirmed my one year Dell warranty.

Repeating for Dell monitors. Do not buy one with ye old dated “comfort view”. Buy one with “comfort view plus”...... Which has the new hardware based lo-blue light technology. With low-blue light LEDs illuminating/ back lighting the monitor. The low blue light features are on all the time. These features do not interfere with daytime use of the monitor.

Windows 11 has a lo-blue light setting under display >>> night light.
Windows 10 too and find night light the same way ..... I suppose. I have no Windows 10 computers.

F.lux is a small download that also adjusts your blue light for Windows PCs..... https://justgetflux.com/

I would use Mint Linux, but its lo-blue light program is pathetic. It is called red shift. Red shift can also be added to Ubuntu and other Linux flavors.

So including the 27” QHD Dell monitor bought last December. I have three ways of adjusting blue light. I tinker with all of them.

Another way to get rid of white glaring LED screens at night, is to deploy Dark Mode for Chrome, Edge etc..... I have not used this lately. But it makes your screen black with white text. It’s very easy on the eyes.
https://www.tomsguide.com/news/how-to-enable-chrome-dark-mode ..... Persist and you will get the hang of it. You can bookmark dark mode for quick access. There are also other ways to enable Dark Mode in Chrome, Edge etc,

So you turn on dark mode at night... turn off during daylight hours. Though some use it all day long. On their computers and iPhones and Apple tablets. Android too.

Since you use Linux.... for sure try out browser based dark mode at night. I have used it with Brave, Chrome, Edge. I cannot tolerate glaring LED screens at night.

I have fdh now, though I probsbly should get qhd as I do a lot of photography and photoshop work that requires correct color and good details, but I don’t mind the fhd. Thank you for that link. The only thing I worry about with buying from eBay something like a monitor is how it might be packed and shipped. Although, sometimes buying from Amazon isn’t very good either. Bought a compressor once that arrived with smashed up case, missing parts- thankfully they took it back though.

You all might know this already, but if not, i Ran across a neat tip to have God mode on windows 10 and 11- it’s like a super up control panel- right c,ick desktop, choose “new folder “ then right click folder, “rename” and paste the following:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Hit enter, and you will have a super control panel where everything is in a list-

For more on this, and how to change name of the new icon and change its icon, head over to

RE: "GodMode"

I've always thought that name was a little bit presumptuous. "Root" is literally correct. "Superuser" is okay.

But "God"? Nah, that not only implies supreme power, but also supreme intelligence. Intelligence is not something you can obtain with a UUID in Windows.

Unless maybe that comes with Microsoft's Extra Cost Extended Support option....

Old find. Ultimate Windows Tweaker offers 200 more tweaks, thank God/. Meanwhile, why would people not prefer the old Control Panel (via Open Shell>open as menu) versus the Windows key + i replacement?
