I had a distant ancestor who taught pterodactylry. It didn’t go well.

May he rest in pieces.

I’m surprised that there isn’t more working with animals in schools or at least an option in schools. Maybe there is in rural schools and I’m just not aware of it. But the principal is right. Working with animals is a skill to be developed and I’m sure a lot of kids would like to do it.

My wife is a master falconer. It is a LOT of work to have a bird for hunting. Daily weighing. Careful control of food to ensure the bird is strong enough to hunt and hungry enough to return to the glove. Over feed and the bird flies away. Constant training is a must. My wife isn't currently flying a bird because she isn't in good enough physical condition to do justice to the bird.

It always fascinated me, but even when young I realized that it was too enormous a responsibility for my circumstances; I decided to be satisfied with reading and watching others.
