Instead of the War on Drugs, it has switched to the War on Foods.

Anyway, you’re supposed to boil broccoli till it’s completely soft with a little salt and butter. Kills listeria and tastes better.
Only a jackass eats it crunchy. And they get a lot of gas.

And people wonder why corporate America always promotes large-scale, processed foods, which many deem unhealthy..

The regulatory and financial risk of selling fresh salad greens or vegetables is equally as high as selling pharmaceuticals, but at 1/100th the profit. Its a crappy business.

I buy vegetables from local farmers at farm markets - which are mostly exempt from FDA rules, because they don’t leave the state and they sell de minimus $$ amounts.

So we have a two-tier food system of powerful, large Agri-producers and huge retail on one hand, and some small local farmers with limited scope on the other.

At the same time, USDA/FDA and much of Fed.gov is either de jure or de facto oppressing the small-scale farmer and supplier.

And before anyone lectures me about vitamins, get a coffee cup and sip the pot liquor the way you’re supposed to. It’s warm and nourishing and tastes good.

This is why I don’t eat broccoli. Though its a nearly irresistible treat anytime, I’m just too health conscious to partake.

That’s the first thing on my list of Never Buy From Walmart. Don’t know why but their broccoli is always rubbery and doesn’t taste that good either.
But in any case, first rule of produce shopping is, as soon as you get it in the house, wash it like a rescued puppy!

Has Trump’s FDA pick been voted on yet?

They seem out of control lately.

I told my mother and later in life I told my wife: Broccoli is a poison. Neither would listen.
