Under federal law, bringing in and harboring aliens is a crime
Title 8 U.S. Code 1324 defines various scenarios when bringing in and harboring aliens violates federal law
Encouraging or inducing an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law
Concealing, harboring or shielding an alien from detection in any place, including any building or any means of transportation, knowing, or in reckless disregard of the fact, that the alien entered or remains in the United States in violation of law, or to engage in any conspiracy to do so, or to aid and abet such violations
For those that are saying “their names are made up anyway”...it doesn’t matter. Whatever name they’ve ‘made up’ has become institutionalized into our systems. If they have a drivers license, receive benefits, etc. they’re in the system under a name and photo.
That said, this is ACTUAL ACTIVE OBSTRUCTION to avoid the law and is criminal. Those allow this should be charged with such.
Remind me isn’t the Real ID law about to be enforced (finally after so many delays in implementation).
If so, maybe all Illinois issued ID should not be allowed to count as “Real ID.” That would make for some interesting feedback to the citizens of Illinois. Those who had passports, Global Express, etc. could still pass through TSA at airports, enter federal buildings and facilities, etc. Everybody else, NOPE.
