Oooh, when I read it, I realized, nice twofer! Thomas Gold dark life / deep life related. Thanks again!

Lol. Wrong again. If you really want to gore their oxen just ask where the transitional fossils are. Or what caused the Cambrian Explosion.
Sounds like Iron Plums I find on the surface.
Where is the short-necked giraffe fossils?.............
You actually read the article?
That’s not allowed on FR!.............
2H20 = 2 O + 4 H.
What happens to the Hydrogen? Hydrocarbons? Is this why the second most common liquid on the planet is oil?
if these formations are producing O2 from H2O, why is there no mention of the H in the articles? Where does the H go?
Your right, the science is settled, Mr. Science says so.
I don’t know where the ‘H’ it goes..............😏
Methane ice nodules all over the bottom of the ocean.........
Almost all modern popular science articles are written to get you to read them not to inform. Accuracy in details not so important.
Isn’t being wrong what science is all about. Take gender science for instance.
UUuuh , , , no . . . don’t take those courses.
. Ice ball Earth. Earth was once covered pole to pole in ice. Obviously not friendly to most life so Carbon Dioxide started building up because there was not enough plant life to reduce the amount coming from volcanic activity. Eventually enough CO2 built up to start melting all that ice. Suddenly you have great conditions for plants to thrive again. That population explodes resulting in a very oxygen rich atmosphere. That in turn gives animals a boost in the energy they can use .Lots of plants to eat as well. New animal species expand quickly. You could say the Precambrian explosion was a burst of activity after a very long winter.
Yeah, it was my first time. ;^) I had it open in one tab, and a reply to your ping open in another, and, yes, I should have read it first, but I trust your judgement. Well, usually. ;^)
This is factually incorrect and a click-bait title.
Yes, oxygen is created by plants from CO2 but we already manufacture oxygen in labs. It’s a pure chemical process. So to say that oxygen ONLY comes from plants is… stupid. But then that’s the shortsightedness you get from eco”scientists” today.
Those whom The Mods would destroy they first make mad............
This (”science”) was rewritten already, a few years ago, when “life” was discovered to exist WITHOUT LIGHT at the bottom of the ocean. A whole ecosystem living without photosynthesis.
How? NUMBER ONE, the “science” was WRONG!
Escaping gases and heat from volcanic thermal vents ALSO gives life.
Science, for the most part is an educated guess. Some “guesses” are more accurate than others. 999 studies can be wrong while the 1 can be correct.
This is kind of interesting although everything I read nowadays I wonder about the political slant of the publisher or the authors. It really is dispiriting when every damn bit of science is politicized. I don’t know what to believe.
Oxygen is a very reactive element. This is why we have fire. For elemental Oxygen to form requires energy. The same amount of energy released from a fire. Whatever is causing oxygen to form in these rocks also requires energy. It might even be due to Uranium or Thorium in the rocks . Uranium was discovered to be the source behind the only known example of elemental Fluorine found in nature .
That's crazy talk, madness is the only reason there are internet chat forums.
