Upset about a new Broadway musical's mockery of Greek mythology, the goddess Terpsichore comes down to earth and lands a part in the show. She works her charms on the show's producer and he incorporates her changes into the show. Unfortunately, her changes also produce a major flop.
Rita Hayworth in "Down to Earth" (1947, technicolor, full movie)
She was a stunner.
There’s one of those mashup vids on the ‘Tube, the scenes were taken from the movie “You’ll Never Get Rich” — it’s Fred A and Rita apparently dancing to Led Zep “Rock and Roll”. ;^)
One of the best looking screen stars ever.
Sad that she had serious mental health issues, I think, compromised by the then “star system”.
One of her famous comments, in that regard, was “Men want to go to bed with Gilda (one of her screen siren characters) but they wake up with Rita”
Watch her on YouTube. I think she’s very equal to her dance partner, Fred Astaire.

Later the movie Xanadu was made based on this with Olivia Newton-John & Gene Kelly.
My dad was clever. He knew Mom would never allow him Girly magazines. Sooooo....he would buy me coloring books and paper dolls of all the pin-up girls. It took me a long time to figure out why he admired my coloring skills.
Anything Rita is worth watching. 🤩
Anything Rita is worth watching. 🤩
She gave good face.
:^) Dang, my dad was colorblind... ;^)
AND a great dancer too !!!

She was such a superb athlete. I have saved that “staying alive video”, where she proves she has the range of skill to dance with Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly.

Statement on the Death of Rita Hayworth
May 15, 1987
“Rita Hayworth was one of our country’s most beloved stars. Glamorous and talented, she gave us many wonderful moments on stage and screen and delighted audiences from the time she was a young girl. In her later years, Rita became known for her struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Her courage and candor, and that of her family, were a great public service in bringing worldwide attention to a disease which we all hope will soon be cured. Nancy and I are saddened by Rita’s death. She was a friend who we will miss. We extend our deep sympathy to her family.”

How about this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GaKMeX7t3c. What I like about her is that she makes it look so effortless.
Complicated by getting her mind messed up by a shrink.
I didn’t know Rita Hayworth could dance like that. What a talent!
Pit-a-pat goes my heart.
Audrey Hepburn now has competition.
Sad that she had serious mental health issues, I think, compromised by the then “star system”.
Think of the Jack Woltz character in “The Godfather”. And his depiction in the movie was much tamer than it was in the novel.
I’m not sure exactly what mental issues Rita Hayworth really had. She was a very talented actress. The biggest mistake she made was marrying Prince Aly Khan. That hurt her a lot. Then in her later year, she ended up with Alzheimer’s.
I was watching the thing last night and probably the most sad case of mistreatment in Hollywood was probably actress Francis Farmer, who did have some mental issues who knows what dealing with the studios and she had a sad ending. She was beautiful and talented.
