He served in the Court’s Southern Division at the Greenbelt Courthouse and was on active status until September 1, 2008. Judge Messitte continued service on senior status until his death. Judge Messitte was renowned for his judicial outreach throughout the world, and especially in Latin America. In June 2017, he received the Order of the Southern Cross for his contributions to the Brazilian Judiciary. His colleagues and Court staff deeply mourn his passing.

A ceremony in remembrance of Judge Messitte will take place in the Greenbelt Courthouse this spring.

good riddance to another hack of a judge (clinton nominee). too bad he was already on senior status so DJT wont get to replace him. but another part of the "clinton legacy" goes into the dustbin of history.

According to wikipedia he ruled against DJT more than once

In 2018, in the case D.C. and Maryland v. Trump, Messitte denied Donald Trump's motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Maryland and the District of Columbia against Trump alleging violation of the Domestic Emoluments Clause and Foreign Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution.[9] A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit dismissed the case in July 2019, with the panel ruling that the Maryland and D.C. attorneys general lacked legal standing to sue.[10] All three judges were appointed by Republican presidents.[11] However, the full court vacated the panel decision, and voted to rehear the appeal en banc.[12][13] In a May 2020 decision, the full Fourth Circuit rejected Trump's attempt to have the case dismissed on the grounds of "presidential immunity" by a 9-to-6 majority, reviving the lawsuit.[14]

In HIAS Inc. v. Trump (2020), Messitte issued a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking Trump's executive order that required refugee-resettlement organizations to obtain letters of consent from states and local jurisdictions before settling refugees. Ruling in favor of Church World Service, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, and HIAS, Messitte found that giving governors and other state and local officials "the power to veto where refugees may be resettled" contravened the Refugee Act of 1980's text, structure, purpose, and congressional intent, and also was a likely violation of the Administrative Procedure Act. Messitte also ruled that the executive order "does not appear to serve the overall public interest" but "granting the preliminary injunctive relief Plaintiffs seek does."[16][17][18] The Fourth Circuit affirmed Messitte's order.[19]

I think any Clinton judges getting off the court is a good thing.

A lawyer on a discussion panel said of Democrat appointed judges, you can accurately guess on how they’ll rule about 95 percent of the time.

if i was actually as cruel as my thoughts — then i would take a big sloppy crap on his honors grave.

fortunately, I’m a prisoner of my own mind and not that cruel!

God called him to his final judgment so Trump can have another judicial appointment. In God we trust. All others must pay cash!

no, as I mentioned in my first comment, he was already on senior status, so DJT does NOT get to replace him.

however an active Obama judge on the CT district court in the New Haven seat died about 2 weeks ago, which means DJT will get to replace him. New Haven is where Yale is, so that’s actually a very important judgeship as any case regarding Yale will be held there.

Another thing that needs to be reformed is the President often rubber stamping people recommended by the Senators of a state. That’s often the reason why we end up with Reagan, Bush or Trump-appointed judges making left wing rulings.

SHORT ILLNESSES LEADING TO DEATH:

First assumption should be the leftist was COVID Vaxxxxxxxxxinated.

COVID vaxxinated can have HUNDREDS of additional "problems" which can kill them.

For example, myocarditis- without treatment, a decent percentage of those affected will be dead in 5 years

Another RARE side effect of the COVID vaxxxxxxations is TURBO CANCERS. Some are diagnosed with STAGE IV on their first doctor visit and are dead in 2 weeks.

EXPECT more judicial openings from leftist judges being fully vaxxxxxxxxxinated AND boosted.
