The Mohajer 6 drone is displayed during Iran's defence industry achievements exhibition, on August 23, 2023 in Tehran. Iran unveiled on August 22 its latest domestically built drone that can fly at a higher altitude and for a longer duration with enhanced weapons capabilities, state media reported. (AFP)
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has deployed missiles featuring artificial intelligence technology during military drills in the Gulf, state media reported Monday.
The IRGC’S naval force “fired Ghaem and Almas missiles equipped with artificial intelligence from advanced Mohajer-6 and Ababil-5 drones,” the IRNA state news agency said.
The report added that the missiles “successfully destroyed hypothetical enemy targets” during the drills.
Ghaem and Almas are both precision-guided missiles developed domestically by the Iranian defense ministry.
On Friday, the IRGC launched a series of military exercises in the southwest of the country, including in Bushehr and Khuzestan provinces, and in Gulf waters.
The provinces are home to Iran’s major oil and petrochemical facilities, with Bushehr also hosting the country’s nuclear power plant.
Citing the “sensitive positions,” IRGC naval commander Alireza Tangsiri told IRNA that the exercises simulated protecting these locations.
Tangsiri also said that Iran was producing cruise missiles with ranges “exceeding 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) that are utilized with AI technology.”
The deployment of the missiles comes months after remarks from Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, urging the authorities to “master artificial intelligence.”
Since its 1979 revolution, the Islamic Republic has developed a series of sophisticated missiles and drones following its break in ties with the United States, which had been Tehran’s main arms supplier.
The test of the missiles also comes days after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, known for a “maximum pressure” approach towards Iran during his first term, which ended in 2021.
Trump said Thursday that he hoped to avoid strikes against Iranian nuclear sites, calling for a “deal” with Tehran, the sworn enemy of the US and its ally, Israel.
Aviation ping!....................
If those AI Missiles were truly smart, they’d figure out Islam is the enemy, make U-turns, and blow up Iran.
If they are ever launched against Israel, THEY WILL!.............
That would be a hack bigger than the exploding pager one, wouldn’t it?
SHHHHHHHHH..............
Their AI will use 7th. century ideology.

Outside of various get rich quick scams Artificial Intelligence, "AI" no longer has the wow factor that it once did.
Most people's frequent contact with AI is with nearly non-existent customer support from companies like Comcast.
Comcast executive, "We've reduced our support load by 99.9% using AI"
Iranian General to AI Missile Guidance System, "I want you to fly to Ben Gurion International Airport and explode!"
AI Missile Guidance System, "I'm sorry Mohammed, I'm afraid can't do that."
Iranian General, "Let me speak to a live missile guidance system technician."
AI Missile Guidance System, "I'm sorry Mahommed but I can't connect you to a live missile guidance technician at the moment. However, you can always reach out for assistance by submitting a support ticket through this link"
We have had Fire and Forget missiles for thirty years. I believe that is what Iranian AI would be.
“The missile was headed straight at the Mossad headquarters. But Suddenly it heard the Islamic call to prayer. So, it turned and blew up the mosque instead.”
I felt like Alice falling down into the Rabbit Hole.
If this is the best AI can do, we are really screwed. The time I spend trying to get answers is easily up 50X over what it used to be back in the black telephone days. Of course, in the black telephone days, you hardly ever needed help with products and "Customer Support" was a figment of the imagination, decades away. You simply got on the black phone, called the local repairman, and he came to your house and fixed your broken appliance or furnace.
AI does excel at rendering images. So far, that seems to be its best use. See my post a few minutes ago Steam Skies | Airships above the Retro-Future (Incredible AI Video).
Maybe now they can use AI to make parts for their old F-14’s.
Why don’t they just buy some Chinese J-20’s?............
Your AI video is quite amazing! I salute your abilities and AI assisted creativity! I wasn't able to watch all of it because my wife heard the soundtrack and began taking an interest in what I was watching and did not approve.
It definitely makes me want to investigate further into how to do this type of wizardry.
It is also possible to ask an AI bot to compose and produce “original” music, vocals, and lyrics in the style of an actual artist. I have tried this, and it is very interesting. I could not say which service is the best at this point. I have saved a couple “free sample” songs that have entertaining lyrics about my cat along with music and vocals that are not complete crap.
AI definitely has worthwhile uses in photo, video and music creation and editing. Given the crap that the entertainment industry has been coming out with this would seem to be presenting an opportunity especially for YouTube content creators such as yourself.
Unfortunately, what I am noticing on YouTube from AI is not creative and entertaining shorts such as you have produced, but long clickbait videos with a bunch of pictures and an AI voiced narrator reading some type of AI produced information similar to type of AI produced term paper about some subject which some people might click on. Unfortunately, the actual value of this type of video is about equal to the amount of effort that went into it. They are designed only with making the most money from the least amount of effort.
Here is an example of some kid trying to make money by telling others how to make money with YouTube by producing crap clickbait videos with the least amount of effort: https://youtu.be/V-59TrzMVww
My guess is that AI can probably be of great value to people without programming experience who want to produce some sort of app or small program for specific purposes
But as a customer service tool AI is a total failure in every respect that I am aware of.
“ I salute your abilities and AI assisted creativity!”
I wish! I found it on YouTube. It was released just a couple days ago.
“ But as a customer service tool AI is a total failure in every respect”
No kidding. The bank chatbot always says “Hi, I’m Chatty. I can help you with things like finding your balance or the amount of your last transaction.”
Me.., immediately screaming “You stupid @$#(@£@* bot! Get me a human.”
Then, in that aggravating and annoying voice “Got it! I can help you with that. First tell me why you are calling.”
I am sorry I misinterpreted some of what was written in the other thread.
“Made with MidJourney for image creation, KLING AI for animation, and Uppbeat for sound design. Edited in DaVinci Resolve”
Two of the three packages have free versions. I have used free versions of DaVinci Resolve for years. It has a bit of a steep learning curve, but there are free videos and tutorials on YouTube and other places along with free books if you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited on Amazon.
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve
MidJourney is mean to be quite easy to learn. It was free when it came out, but now you need to subscribe with the cheapest plan costing $10 a month. Depending on what you are using it for this could be quite a bargain:

Upbeat is also meant to be very easy to use and has free plans.
You might be shortchanging yourself. Creating this type of video may not be that difficult to figure out. But I do I salute the abilities and AI assisted creativity that went into this video. To me it seems like the most tedious part is likely editing the 18 or so segments into a semi-coherent timeline. Adding the royalty free soundtrack and getting it to fit the timeline is very easy all using the free version of DaVinci Resolve.
The unknown for me is how difficult and expensive it would to get MidJourney to create the AI video segments. It looks very impressive but the experience that I have had with other AI content creation software is that it has been very easy to use. The 2-minute video that I linked to showed how to create images and it was along the same lines as the music creation software that I tried out previously.
2 minutes of video would obviously take a lot more GPU time than creating images. This could get fairly expensive looking at the pricing structure of the MidJourney software. I just do not know...
I have two other licensed video editing programs Vegas Pro and Pinnacle Studio Ultimate that I have purchased, both have AI Assisted video generating functions that can be used to create video segments from images. I have found that Davinci has an AI creation tool with the Pro version that costs $20 for a month or $60 for a year which looks more advanced than what my other programs are capable of. Some of the samples look quite a bit like the 2-minute segment that was discussed in this post. It all depends on whether someone wants to spend a lot of time, effort and money working with these tools. There are many creative people who have caught the AI bug. This all reminds me of a program that I used years ago called Band-in-a Box.
Band-in-a Box used to be pretty inexpensive if you didn't purchase all of the add-ons... Now it can get pretty expensive. They do not call it AI even though it has always been able to generate music based on your input.
With AI equipped drones, the payload is the power supply.
