Thousands of Costco workers nationwide voted Sunday to authorize a strike if a contract is not reached by the end of the month.
The authorization was approved by an 85% margin due to Costco’s “failure to bargain constructively and refusal to present a fair contract offer that reflects the company’s record-breaking profits,” the International Brotherhood of Teamsters stated.
The current agreement, which covers more than 18,000 Costco workers, expires on Jan. 31.

Stupid is as stupid does.
Costco is unionized?.......who knew? 🤷
Costco needs to ban DEI right now.
F’em.
They celebrate DEI. That’s why they need union thugs raiding their paychecks. Idiots.
My thoughts exactly.
BTW...if one wants to share in Costco’s profits, one can buy Costco stock like everyone else.
The place is basically a giant warehouse......the most skilled labor I ever saw in there were the butchers. Lol!
And????? SO?????
Interesting. Thanks for posting.
The strike could go on for a year and I would still be using the case of toilet paper and paper towels that I bought the last time I was there.
“Welcome To Costco, I don’t love you!”
Where will people go to panic when 2” of snow are forecast?
The checkout people do a very good job. We’ll get in a line that looks like it will take a half-hour; and then in ten minutes, we’re out.
Costco gas is about 20-30 cents less per gallon than any other place in town. I guess I’d better fill up!
Do people even go to Costco for that?
Bring in the scabs!
I can’t see them shutting down over this.
DEI=DIE
“The Teamsters covered by the Costco national contract make up 8% of the 219,000 U.S. employees that the company has at 616 U.S. stores, according to company filings.
But a strike by that many workers represents a major strike for a U.S. retailer, which is overwhelmingly non-union.”
Us old folk. I don’t buy in bulk. Those shopping carts are like destruction derby solid. Trader Joe’s is more for singles.
This represents a very small percentage of Costco warehouses and workers.
I doubt this will end with the teamsters getting everything they want.
