Trump has already conquered D.C. even before taking office

President-elect Donald Trump is returning to Washington triumphant: His legal cases are behind him, corporate executives are flocking to Mar-a-Lago to meet with him, his inaugural committee has raised record sums of money for Monday’s ceremony and the Republican Party is now fully in his control.

It’s a stark contrast both to his 2017 inauguration — when Trump came to Washington as a political unknown without close personal relationships to his Cabinet or congressional leaders — and to his departure from the Oval Office in January 2021, when he was widely condemned for the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by a pro-Trump mob.

Now, many of his Cabinet picks appear poised to sail through the Republican-controlled Senate, including his controversial pick for defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, whose nomination seemed in danger just a month ago. Trump is expected to sign scores of executive orders as he takes office, especially on the border, a central issue of his presidential campaign. He is personally closer to his proposed Cabinet and other top aides compared with eight years ago and is enjoying some of the highest favorability ratings of his political career. Days before coming into office, Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire and hostage release deal that both Trump and President Joe Biden have sought to take credit for.

“It’s just light-years difference — corporate America has embraced President Trump,” said Brian Ballard, a prominent Florida lobbyist and Trump fundraiser. “Every corporate client I have wants to be a part of it. There’s none of this counterprotest. … I remember eight years ago, the day after he was sworn in, there were a million people protesting in Washington, D.C., before the guy even had a day in office.”

Trump’s 2016 election ushered in a national resistance movement and...

I can’t believe we are now a day away, the nightmare is almost over. I heard the commies are going to have a mass protest. Good, let them freeze their asses off. It’s suppose to snow Sunday in DC and be in the 20s on Monday.

There is nothing in this "deal" for Trump to be celebrating. It's an utter disaster for Israel. They are releasing 1,900 Hamas prisoners back into Gaza, in exchange for 33 Israeli hostages, and Israel cannot even find out how many of the Israeli hostages being released are dead or alive! In addition, Hamas is continuing to hold 87 more Israeli hostages! This is absolute insanity by any measure and the writer of the article or blogster has to be a deep state mf'r on steroids.

And Trump doesn’t have the nevertrumpers and RINO’s in control to stop his agenda.

They’re still out there, but not in control.

If I were a cynic, I'd say Israel agreed to a temporary ceasefire so afterwards it can find and kill those 1,900 in Gaza rather than be stuck holding them for ever.

After this much time and combat, I doubt very many other hostages are alive.

I, too, think it’s a disaster for Israel. On the other hand, I don’t think Israel will have any compunction at all about killing any former prisoner who even looks sideways at a weapon, or has even been thought to have done so.

By now the females have been converted to Islam, have Hamas husbands and children by them. This happened in the old west to women captured by Native Tribesmen. Women were like trophies to be given out like awards. The women have no choice in this and may well be happy in their new life—at least they are alive.

Articles like this are head fakes, designed to plant the idea in conservative's heads that they don't actually need to do anything in Washington because they've already "won."

Actually, we only have the potential for Trump becoming the leader of America at this point. It will become a reality when the power of the Deep State is broken, and long lines of unemployed autocrats pushing handcarts and wheelbarrows are snaking out of Washington D.C. If that doesn't happen, if the Deep State is still sitting there in Washington in 2028, make no mistake: We will have frittered our opportunity away and decisively lost.
