The Lions have the core. Yes, Goff is not the kind of quarterback that can win games on his own, but if he has a decent supporting cast on both sides of the ball, you can win a title with him.

Lions need to better develop their depth to deal with the injuries.

Thye nasty weather played a part in both games, for sure. But that’s “old time” football ... no heated domes (or even sideline heaters, mittens, capes and warm benches) back in the day. And we liked it! (I sound like GrandPa Simpson)

Injuries are always a part of the game. A team can have a great year, yet lose in the playoffs due to attrition. A good bench can make the difference when the injury bug hits. My team, the Bills, had terrible luck last year with injuries. But that is how it works. This year, we are in pretty good shape. A team like Detroit will, no doubt, acquire some solid veterans to fill out the roster.

And the NFL just keeps adding more games to the regular season. which is just going to make it worse.

Yeah. I mean, I can’t comprehend how anyone can play an entire season, and still be ambulatory. I would be dead about 12 minutes into the first quarter.

LOL! Not at all! On one hand, these guys are paid top $$$ to CATCH and HOLD ON to the ball, regardless of the weather.

OTOH too many of them want to be 'Macho' and go on the field with bare arms sans "long johns" underwear.

You'd think UNDER ARMOR would have such a product.

PS: You're right...Jackson's throw for the two-point conversion should have been higher.

Also consider this: The three NFC North Playoff teams combined were 29-4 against teams outside the division. They went 0-3 in the playoffs.

Not hearing that this morning from the local sports talkers. Andrews is taking most of the heat. A two-point loss.... it’s still a loss and in all honesty it’s tough to go to Buffalo and win a playoff game. However, they had a good shot but did not take advantage.

But what a letdown.... the OSU - ND game is tonight and I feel no enthusiasm for it whatsoever. I’ll probably still watch as it’s the last college game till August...

The Vikings did their usual playoff swoon, but consider they lost to only two teams all season.

Thankfully for Vikings followers, Detroit managed to secure the honor of most miserably downtrodden NFL fans.
