Reconsidering the J6 Pardons
American Thinker ^ | 16 Jan, 2025 | Dennis Lund

A blanket amnesty, to those currently convicted, in jail, or awaiting trial for actions on Jan 6, will not be granted. But rest assured that pardons or commutations will be forthcoming.

Anyone paying attention to the Hunter Biden saga fully expected ‘The Big Guy’ to pardon his bagman. What was a surpris[e]; the pardon was a blanket amnesty for any possible crime that may have been committed while Hunter was raking in the dough for the Biden family. Any such blanket amnesty should be an anathema to all fair-minded individuals, which excludes Democrats.

For that reason, a blanket amnesty, to those currently convicted, in jail, or awaiting trial for actions on Jan 6 will not be granted, as the President has said. But rest assured that pardons or commutations will be forthcoming. Granting pardons and commutations en masse would be politically damaging to the President, as he has recognized.

The media has been promoting Trump’s comments regarding pardons for the Jan 6ers as being primarily across the board, from AP we have:

“Trump said he would issue pardons to rioters on “Day 1” of his presidency, which begins Jan. 20. “Most likely, I’ll do it very quickly… those people have suffered long and hard. And there may be some exceptions to it. I have to look. But, you know, if somebody was radical, crazy.”

The Vice President elect added clarity to the situation on Fox News Sunday:

“I think it’s very simple -- if you protested peacefully on Jan 6 and you had Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice treat you like a gang member, you should be pardoned. If you committed violence on that day, obviously you shouldn’t be pardoned. And there’s a little bit of a grey area there. But we’re very much committed to seeing the equal

I think this is a good plan. At the same time there should be an investigation into who planned what now seems to be an orchestrated event.

This is fair. But hopefully, Kash Patel can find out where some of the bodies are buried in terms of FBI involvement and potential incitement.

The FBI can forget about ever having credibility with the American people again. It’s going to take a whole new organization. The panty raids on Mar-A-Lago are never going to die. Agents my ass. They acted like a bunch of college party boys.

After the pardons, next up is arresting Byrd for murdering Ashley Bobbitt.

The Pardons should be based upon what was done to the J6ers!
That is more important than what they did.

The DC juries returned a 100% conviction rate. That is not Justice.

Everyone gets a pardon. Everyone signs a form stating they were not an FBI asset.

That's assuming Byrd doesn't get a pardon from Biden in the next four days. The libs would just LOVE to do that, rub our noses into it on their way out.

Pardon everybody but the fed agents and Klantifa types brought in to make MAGA look bad. Everybody else should get a pardon.

Fire every single US Attorney.

Start an immediate investigation into the feds and the capital police with an eye toward rapidly bringing charges against Michael Byrd, Lila Morris and several others....like the one capital cop who pushed a guy off a ledge for no reason and those capital cops who fired on a peaceful crowd to deliberately start a riot.

Fire the entire 7th floor and the entire DC office.

All of them.

Wipe them out.

Where were the FBI whistle-blowers? I think there were 2 altogether. This is a very bad look for the Federal Butt Inspectors.

Agreed.
Everyone gets a pardoncommuted sentence.. Everyone signs a form stating they were not an FBI asset.
Everyone who was nonviolent receives, on a case-by case basis, a full pardon. IMHO.

Locked in prison, some in solitary confinement for 4 years without trials? What the F' ever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?

The people who had them put there... I believe the Jan 6 committee are the ones who should stand trial! ....imho

“I think this is a good plan. At the same time there should be an investigation into who planned what now seems to be an orchestrated event.”

If orchestrated, then it’s clearly entrapment. I would vote for full pardons for everyone there that’s not a fed...but that has to be done carefully to make it clear, first, that it was entrapment - or the Dems will pounce.

The goal here is to PUNISH the guilty, and that would be any type of police/FBI assets and the leaders of the entrapment, and the first, easy way, to punish those people is blanket pardons, even for violent acts - since it’s reasonable to assume that none of that wouldn’t have happened without the entrapment plan.

I fully support prosecuting those who committed political persecution and think they should receive the same treatment. Otherwise the left will not be afraid of doing it again.

I’ve said from the start, no problem with pardons for the non violent folks who simply engaged in trespass.

However I don’t believe people who engaged in violence should just be pardoned. These should be handled on a case by case basis.

even those who were violent have been treated differently than the violent BLM protestors.

ALL of them should be pardoned.

To my knowledge, Trump never said he would issue a “blanket pardon.” As I recall, he said he would review each case.
