Just wait until they start doing sex changes on their pets

Unfortunately, I don’t think it is really about “affordability” ...

Since most animals are smarter than humans I applaud this.
Animals can’t vote democrat either.
Buy them a cookbook. 101 ways to wok your dog.

BS they are becoming “pet parents” because they have refused to grow up.

Most people struggle in the beginning after high school and more so your first child.

I remember fondly now, the days of eating hot dogs and Mac and Cheese day after day with my wife so we could afford baby formula and diapers, a big Fri night for us was pizza and a VHS movie. Learning to sacrifice is part of becoming an adult!

I believe it. We had to beg to get our dog in on a serious back problem yesterday. When we got there they were jammed.

I figured they had already accepted their cellphone as a replacement for children.

Hard to feel sorry for them when they were stupid enough to major in Gender Studies, Non-Gluten Cooking, and Neighborhood Organizational Structures.

Hence the popular term “fur babies.”

They can afford kids just as well as previous generations did. They just need to stop buying new cars, traveling to ‘festivals’, daily $9 ‘coffee’ drinks, and related extravagances. With rare exception, starting a family has always meant tremendous financial sacrifice. It also requires marriage and, these days, two incomes. Younger generations disdain marriage/family life and its responsibilities, and have been programmed to believe that humans are destroying the planet. Incredibly sad lie they’ve been told. Some wake up to it, and go on to live happy, normal lives; most don’t, and go on to live unhappy, lonely lives. Hence, pets.

Over the last 5 to 10 years, the number of pet related businesses in my suburb has at least quadrupled. There is a pet hospital, clinic, retreat facility, or store on almost every corner now. Even our small, one man groomer, recently moved into a larger pet facility and added staff.

Medical and Pet have been two of the fasters growing industries.

We can’t afford a pet. When we first moved to where we are now, our vet told us that as soon as obamacare kicked in we’d see our vet bills go up as well. He wasn’t kidding. Our current life style wouldn’t be fair to a fur kid in any case.

Fur babies.

I feel sorry for those who are parents of fur babies.

I picture Kamala, her wine and her cat.

Sucks for them.

I’m just waiting on my 14 year old dog to die so I can do some slow traveling. He’ll probably end up living to 20.

Veterinarians have struck gold, ranked at No. 1 on this year’s Best Jobs of 2025

It's because they charge about 1000% more than they did just a couple decades ago
