I went to a college sporting event last night with a large group of my extended family.
My dad said, “Remember when we were here during COVID and they yelled at us when our masks were on our chins?”
They literally had “spotters” who would scan the crowd of 4000 people and scold those who masks were worn too low.
What a time to be alive...
five years on? Covid responses are still rippling through the economy and the fabric of our politics and social life.
Strange, yes. Scary, not so much.
I retired in 2018... Minimal impact from the COVID scam. No jabs for the wife and I, our kids families or grandkids.
I continued to state it was all bullshxt and took a little bit they all agreed.
Georgia opened up before Florida and everything here was pretty much back to normal when all businesses opened on 30 April 2020.
You and me both. I saw what I thought were reasonable people turn into petty fascists at the drop of a hat.
I don’t remember it being scary, but I damn well remember it being strange as all get out, and annoying to the extreme.
Showed the worst side of people, especially the control freaks.
I have covid. Drs still don’t want you to come in if you have tested positive and have a fever.
Became real for me when I lost my father in law to Covid in April 2020.

I honestly hope the entire vaxed population dies in 10 years. I was never one to claim 6 months or 1 year or 2 years…. I just hope they all die for running away from a Lexington and concord moment like the cowards they are. Instead of supporting their brother and sisters in life the got the jab, wore the mask, went one way down the supermarket and basically left the few (about 16%) to just get raped. So brave are all the vaxed. It didn’t stop transmission it didn’t stop contagion it didn’t stay in the deltoid it didn’t breakdown in 1-3 days, it didn’t do anything good. It did kill babies in the womb, breastfeeding babies, the young the healthy and it fcked up the immune system. Not as bad for the old and weak immune system but hey screw the young and healthy. What do they provide anyway. Many here will take offense but if the truth ever gets out my opinion will be proven correct and much worse. So I’m hoping for a VIDVAX major die off. They wanted us punished/cancelled/dead …. I know where my bet is going
The fear propaganda pushed by our government of the threat of nuclear war in the 50’s was far more scary to me as a grammar school age kid than the Covid propaganda they spread. I supposedly tested positive twice for Covid via mandatory testing prior to having medical procedures done. I had no symptoms whatsoever either time, nothing. And on the day I tested positive the second time, I had administered a rapid home test that morning which results were negative. The doctor’s office said they couldn’t accept the home test results because I hadn’t gotten the jabs, and required me to go to their lab to have a swab test initiated. When I told the woman in the office that even if people were jabbed, they could still get Covid, be infectious, and should have to be tested as well. Her response was: “I don’t make the rules.”
And worst of all government at every level, from the President of the United States down to municipal bureaucrats, LYING THROUGH THEIR FILTHY TEETH TO US.
I was shocked how many people drank the Kool-Aid.

Got a call from my boss 13 or 14 March. “Don’t go to work next week”. “OK, when do I go back in?”, “We’ll call you”. OK, hung up.

Turn on the TV. The whole country is going into lockdown because of China Flu. Nuts - I’m retiring in five weeks and I have systems docs generated over the last 39 years I need to get to the right people. Didn’t get done.
I eventually learn the panic is because a known-crap model at Imperial College (Britain) said 500 million casualties or some such obscene number. Most of the world panicked, with a few intelligent exceptions.
I can’t complain. I got paid in full for not working for five weeks until I retired.
Retirement was low-key. Turned in badges, visited HR to collect paperwork and sign out. Done by noon.
Got a Nice Big Hug from the HR gal - She decided hell with the masking and distance crap. Tall as me and Very Not Guilty. Wonderful Gal. She’s one of the folks I miss.
Never did get vaxxed. Also found some cloth facemasks with “I Call Bullshit” stenciled on. Got a lot of smiles for that one.
I did my best to ignore it and the covidiots.
I don’t think I skipped a day of work. I did pivot my job a little. I traveled to 22 states during lockdown. I generally made people force the useless masks on me.
When we did wear them they were mesh from a company called fake mask USA.com.
I did eventually squire a healthy dose of natural immunity. I took ivermectin.
I did not take the clot shot.
