The President-Elect Is a Felon, but His Sentence Carries No Penalty

Arms crossed, scowl set, President-elect Donald J. Trump avoided jail, but became a felon.

Mr. Trump appeared virtually at his criminal sentencing on Friday from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, more than 1,000 miles away from the chilly Manhattan courtroom where his case was called for a final time. Projected on a 60-inch screen, his image loomed over the gallery as a prosecutor recounted his crimes and a judge imposed his sentence.

Mr. Trump once faced up to four years in prison for falsifying business records to cover up a sex scandal, but on Friday, he received only a so-called unconditional discharge. The sentence, a rare and lenient alternative to jail or probation, reflected the practical and constitutional impossibility of jailing a president-elect.

It nonetheless carried symbolic significance, capping a yearslong ordeal that consumed Mr. Trump as a weary nation reckoned with the prospect of a criminal president. Once the sentencing concluded, it cemented his status as the first felon to occupy the Oval Office.

“Never before has this court been presented with such a unique and remarkable set of circumstances,” said the trial judge, Juan M. Merchan, who has felt the brunt of Mr. Trump’s rage over the case the past two years. “This has been a truly extraordinary case.”

It was also “a bit of a paradox,” he said, as the somber ritual of sentencing testified to both the supremacy and limits of presidential power.

It really doesn’t mean much when you’re a Caucasian U.S. President “tried” by Juan the Colombian Coffee Bean with no stinkin’ badge.

Donald Trump is NOT a felon.

He is innocent of any of the b#llsh!t, made up, fraudulant charges the bastards served up.

I remain flabbergasted that the NY BS was allowed to proceed, everyone knew it was bogus.

He is not a felon. This must be overturned and the evil people involved made to pay dearly.

This must be overturned and the evil people involved made to pay dearly.

It will be, but in the meantime the gaslight presstitutes can have their jollies calling him a "convicted felon."

That was really the only purpose of it all.

Meanwhile, any time someone throws the "Donald Trump is a convicted felon" card, remind them that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi were also politically persecuted "convicted felons" of imaginary crimes.

No penalty because it wasn’t a court it was a inquisition.

No self defense was allowed.

Bolsheviks learned how to use the court system years ago.

No self defense was allowed.

Alex Jones was the proof-of-concept for that, just as he was the proof-of-concept for being banned on "social media."

Once they proved it worked on him, they rolled it out nationwide.

No... he isn’t a convicted felon. Below the hard deck doesn’t count Maverick. There are rules and the communists broke them. He’s not actually a felon no matter how much they say it.

They can call him a felon, but he is my felon and my President. I honor him for his visions for our country.

"The President-Elect Is a Felon, but His Sentence Carries No Penalty"

Merchan gave out felony convictions using a strange, inane logic similar to comrade biden giving out Presidential Medals of Honor. A merchan felony conviction has no more value than liberal integrity and much less value than spit.

Until... They vacate this nonsense and throw it all out.

The sad part... If liberal media outlets like the NY Slimes had ignored Trump, and if the NY and Federal Justice systems hadn’t maliciously charged Trump... He likely wouldn’t be the President.

By keeping his name in the daily news cycle for eight consecutive years... They inadvertently gave Trump publicity, the type of publicity most Presidential candidates would pay millions for... Trump got it all for free.

So now the Presidents of the two most populous nations in the Western Hemisphere are “felons.” Big deal. That, and a MetroCard will get you on the Subway.
