MSNBC's Symone Sanders Scolds Michael Cohen For Asking Biden For Hunter-Like Pardon
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/11/2025 9:05:26 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

On MSNBC, Michael Cohen said that he had applied for one because he believes himself to be on a Trump "enemies list." He continued:

"Yeah, I put in the application for a presidential pardon because I believe that Joe Biden has the same responsibility to me that he had to his own son. And I would expect that the same exact pardon that he gave his son has to go to me."

That prompted this pointed [see screencap] response from co-host Symone Sanders, a former Kamala Harris spokesperson:

"I am struck by your, your, your, your comparing yourself and Hunter Biden. And I wonder if, well, I'm going to tell you, Michael Cohen, because we're on national TV, we're gonna have a conversation. I don't necessarily think that's your best way to go get a pardon. I mean, Hunter Biden is the president's last surviving son."

Cohen retorted: "I'm also somebody's son."

Countered Sanders: "Agreed. You are somebody's son. But to be very clear, you're not the president's son."

Of course we’re no fans of Cohen. But MSNBC has a pecking order. The uncouth Cohen will be tolerated so long as he aims his barbs at Trump. But the minute Cohen criticizes Biden, he’s told off in no uncertain terms.

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.

Liberals are okay with corruption.

Fighting corruption threatens the left’s notion of “democracy”

Oh my. How yummy. He’s scared. And I’d disagree with the no. 2 reply that the host shut him down. She’s sympathetic to him but makes it clear there’s a hierarchy and he’s not as important as a drug-addled degenrate criminal

I think her point was pretty straightforward, it’s basically that he is not Biden’s blood, he has little to offer the left other than his dopey face, and therefore irrelevant and very expendable

Did he also bring with him adoption paper? Will he be willing to date or even marry Beau’s widow?

The Supreme Court needs to weigh in on the subject of “Preemptive Pardons”, and point out that such a power can be used to create a class of people who are utterly above the law.

They should rule that, since a person is not guilty of having broken any law until he is convicted in court, he cannot be pardoned for something he might not have done. And following that, they should nullify all preemptive pardons granted to date, and rule that the Presidential pardon power can only be exercised in the case of convicted criminals.

Of course, people will ask “What about Nixon?” His pardon would be nullified too, but both he and Gerald Ford are dead.

End. Of. Story.

Give PMSNBC credit.

They are giving a voice to the crud that has accumulated at the bottom of the drain.

It’s a dirty job, but it’s not that they are fit to do much of anything else.

Why does the ‘truth teller’ need a pre-arranged pardon? That paragon of sanctity and virtue.

What Cohen means is that he was doing Biden’s bidding the same way that Hunter was doing. Therefore, he also deserves a pardon.

I don’t believe that Hunter was the head of the Biden bribery and extortion business. During the years he was under his worse addiction was when the Bidens were raking in the most money. He couldn’t make decisions while that coked-out. Joe Biden was the mob leader and his family members were his “lieutenants”. Secret service members were part of their protection. If Joe wasn’t in charge do you think the SS would have gone to such lengths to protect Hunter?

Boy does he looked depressed.

I've never seen a fellow whose appearance reflected his state of mind so clearly. Back in his heyday, he was movie-star good looking...

About the pardon, he did serve time and has been disbarred in NY. He expected President Trump to pardon him way back when ... maybe he is trying for a pardon to expunge his record so he can practice in the Big Apple again.

a preemptive pardon prevents charges being filed for crimes that occurred in the past, not for crimes still to be committed in the future. Biden can’t pardon anyone for a crime that is committed after January 20th 2025.

I think that a presidential pardon is beyond the scope of the judiciary. They have no say in the matter.

We will have to see. The scope of the judiciary never seems to be defined. It is what they say it is.
