LA Fire Department responds to Henry Winkler's shock claim about cause of blazes

The LA Fire Department has responded after Henry Winkler made a shock claim about the cause of the California blazes.

Amid the destruction sparked by the Pacific Palisades fire, the Happy Days icon, 79, took to X with an an incendiary message blaming foul play.

He wrote: 'THERE IS an ARSONIST here in LA . May you be beaten you unrecognizable !!! The pain you have caused !!!'

His claims swiftly went viral with some fans pledging their support to him and others lambasting him for spreading panic.

An LA Fire Department official has responded to the claim via TMZ, saying 'there's no way to know at this moment exactly where and how the series of fires started, but an investigation is underway.'

The LA Fire team investigating each fire is the arson squad, but that is matter of course for every major fire, and does not confirm arson, the official said.

Winkler has a home in Brentwood, LA.

Fans quickly commented on Winkler's post with one writing: 'I’ve been watching all day and night. How is it possible for the fires to keep jumping for miles and miles. How did the Hollywood Hills fire start? I’m starting to wonder if it is arsonists or terrorists or both.

Others wrote: 'You are right in a way.' and 'My opinion of you just sank. What good does physically harming them do? it would be upsetting to do and upsetting to watch. But locking them up would do some good.

'Embers blown on wind can travel 2 miles or more and set fires off. While it is possible, it is doubtful that they are all caused by arson - especially when no rain since March 2024 and 100mph winds are added in.

And this boys and girls is why LA is burning, why LAFD has three high paid dykes running the disaster, a $750K a year dyke running LAW&P, why the city voted a globe hopping run away mayor,and a governor who could not organize a piss up in a pub and why the country has failed. I doubt it bad habits are hard to break. Besides their hatred for DJT and the republicans is so embedded in their hearts and minds that there is no way Republicans can ever win California again. .... Well .... For the past four or five years ..... ISIS et-al have been encouraging followers and faithful to use arson as an effective weapon against evil America. I have a feeling that at least Some of these fires may have actually been spawned by that inspiration.

Out of all this, there has been only one person being held and investigated for starting a fire in the basin. So is there anything to lead anyone to prove it happened.

Winkler hates Trump and is a glaring liberal. This can just as easily be his effort to bail out the liberal politicians he supports. But he is no less transparent than they are so I think he is trying to offset the blame. Of course it doesn’t make any difference how the blaze was started but that the powers that be didn’t take any action to prepare for anything and even cut the budget by over $17M opening up holes for any fire to do this.

So is Winkler addressing the problem? No. he’s trying to influence people to kick it down the road by blaming nobody. What a hypocrit!

They have an arson suspect and witnesses on the fire called the Kenneth fire. So...yeah... One near there just under a freeway was caused by a homeless encampment but it isn’t connected to anything else yet and it looks like it’s under control. Fun night.

One thing I noticed, when they (local news stations) began over a week ago talking about a rather unusual santa ana event...among the warnings of power outages, tree damage, etc....one word they seemed to want to leave out was...fire.
