Report: Trump’s Inaugural Committee Raises $170M, Shattering Records (kissing the ring)
Breitbart ^ | 9 Jan 2025 | Wendell Husebo

Companies and top executives appear eager to curry favor with President-elect Donald Trump as he readies to take office

The $170 million mark, which could reportedly reach $200 million, outpaces Trump’s reported 2017 inauguration committee raise of $107 million.

The inaugural committee is also reportedly no longer selling tickets to donors to attend Trump’s swearing-in and accompanying private events.

The record number comes just four years after many of the same companies and executives turned their backs on Trump following the 2020 election.

The Times reported the remarkable shift in corporate attitude towards Trump:

Mr. Trump often talks privately about who has supported him, and the frenzy to donate to his inauguration — even if it comes without the usual exclusive access — underscores the degree to which deep-pocketed donors and corporations are seeking to curry favor with him. Far more than in early 2017 at the start of his first term, corporate America has largely embraced Mr. Trump during his transition, partly out of a desire to get on his good side.

Prospective donors began to be told early this week that no more seats were available for certain events around Washington,.... The packages offered to corporate and individual donors had originally been marketed.. but they ended early given the extraordinary demand.

On account of the shortage of seating at V.I.P. events, some donors have taken the unusual step of offering donations as high as $1 million without receiving anything in return. Seats at the inaugural address, tickets to the ritzy balls or access to other events are typically a major part of why major donors cut checks. Inaugural events are a key time for the lobbying industry, and they draw donations from corporations and wealthy donors eager to gain influence or make amends with a new administration.

My favorite lefty is all in a twit over a world run by “oligarchs.” To see these corporate heads donating to Trump’s inaugural frosts his bagel big league.

Questions: What exactly is the Inaugural Fund used for? What makes this otherwise any different than an invitation to multiple “quid pro quos?”

Someone please explain to me why it costs money to be inaugurated? Seriously who pays whom for what? Is all this pomp and circumstance really necessary? A big over priced wedding doesn't make a marriage any better.

Fair question.

I think this is simply kiss up money to make up for the kiss up money given to help Kamala / Biden win.

No one forced must make those tweets, he did it himself, its public record. It is not a deep state. You are basically lying.

Here are the tweets that Musk himself pecked out with his stubby little fingers.

He tweeted "The reason I'm in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B. Take a big step back and $&@# YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend."

He tweeted "The "contemptible fools" I'm referring to are those in the Republican Party who are hateful, unrepentant racists. They will absolutely be the downfall of the Republican Party if they are not removed."

"And those contemptible fools must be removed from the Republican Party, root and stem."

I dare you to try and tell me those tweets aren't real.

I hope they put money into counter surveillance teams. President Trump will attract some lunatic liberals. He needs security to deal with them immediately.

Musk tweeted those out - fact - and caused a fire storm, what is wrong with you?

Simple question, do you deny the tweets exist?

Musk also then backtracked and clarified H1-B needs reformed and must not be abused, I see you conveniently left that part out.

We know Musk is eccentric, it comes with the level of his genius, such outbursts are wrong but you have to take the good with the bad and as long as he is willing to listen and change he is a greater good than a bad. Show some maturity and honestly and reason thios through.

The colonization-level numbers of immigrants due to work visas need to be ended by totally eliminating the programs with legislation. Until that happens I will be beating up on Musk and the Trump Administration. I am beyond enraged at these programs. Your stance is that reducing the rape of America by a just little bit is enough but it needs to be totally stopped.

My stance is to get started addressing the issue and keep going. I to would like to see H1-B stopped but a total ban of all foreign talent would have deprived America of people Like Einstein as an example.

We have to live in reality and rarely are absolutes the correct answer.

Someone please explain to me why it costs money to be inaugurated? Seriously who pays whom for what?

From FEC.gov: Funding inaugural committee activities

Funding inaugural committee activities

After Election Day, the President-elect and various federal and state agencies begin planning for inauguration. An inaugural committee is appointed by the President-elect to be in charge of the presidential inaugural ceremony and activities connected with the ceremony. This committee may accept donations but must file a report with the FEC.

Activities of the inaugural committee

The presidential inaugural committee is appointed by the President-elect to be in charge of the presidential inaugural ceremony and the functions and activities connected with the ceremony. The inaugural committee plans and finances all inaugural events, other than the swearing-in ceremony at the Capitol and the luncheon honoring the President and Vice President, including opening ceremonies, the parade, galas and balls. (The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, which is formed by a congressional resolution every four years, several months in advance of the presidential election, plans and finances the presidential inaugural events held at the Capitol, including the swearing-in ceremony and the congressional luncheon to honor the President and Vice President.)

The inaugural committee also receives special privileges in the District of Columbia beginning five days before and ending four days after the inaugural ceremony. Chapter 5 of title 36 of the United States Code authorizes Congress to make appropriations for the inauguration; however, the appropriations are limited to funding the costs of municipal services associated with the inaugural events. Accordingly, the inaugural committee accepts donations to cover the costs associated with all other inaugural events.

Donations to the inaugural committee

Foreign nationals are prohibited from making and inaugural committees are prohibited from knowingly accepting donations from foreign nationals.

While donations to an inaugural committee are not subject to any contribution amount limitations, corporations and labor organizations are permitted to make donations to an inaugural committee.

Reporting

The inaugural committee must disclose, in a report filed with the Commission within 90 days after the inaugural ceremony, certain donations made to the inaugural committee.

Political committees making donations to the inaugural committee report such donations on Schedule B for Line 29 (Other Disbursements) on their FEC reports.

And that’s fine. Just understand I won’t let the issue drop ever. The H1B and student work visas are the tip of the spear used by multinational corporations to impoverish , subjugate and dispossess all native bornAmericans of all colors and creeds.
