The book explores the aftermath of a genocidal event in which every White person in America wakes up, walks into the nearest body of water and drowns...
The novel follows Charlie, a wrongfully incarcerated Black man who is reunited with his 19-year-old daughter Sidney. Sidney had been raised by her White mother’s side of the family believing that she was White too. She holed up in her mansion alone for a year after losing her family, but after a note from her blonde, green-eyed aunt claiming that White people are “not all gone,” she tracks down Charlie to take her to Orange Beach, Alabama, where all the people who think of themselves as White have congregated...
As with many magical realism novels, the premise can get muddled. How “non-White” do you have to be to survive the event? What about White Latinos? Where did all the Black cops go? In this version of the world, people who think of themselves as White still exist, so should Black conservative pundits and racist Asians. How did this new world order avoid recreating all the problems of the old one?
But those willing to suspend their disbelief will see a version of utopia that doesn’t include White people, and this is radical. So often, America’s conceptualization of diversity is based in Whiteness. White people have historically held the power and the wealth in this country, and the vision for equality looks like adding other people into this picture...
Campbell dares to ask the question: What would a new, better society look like if it didn’t have any White people at all?

The author is genocidal.
There are people who are “Half White” or “Half Black.” Do they go into the water only up to their waist?
The “novel” is racist. If the colors were reversed, this would never have been published.
There are a lot of people who blame their failures on Whitey, who is paying taxes that are used to support the indolent failures who then lift their middle finger at Whitey.

Yeah, well if someone wrote something like that, they’d obviously be called racist. And yet this author isn’t?! Hypocrisy at its finest.

And they wonder why Donald Trump was able to win three elections. I suggest the writer needs to take some time to self reflect. But knowing the lefties, that’ll only happen in our dreams.

And the author is too stupid to see the irony.
Reminds me of that old SNL skit where Garrett Morris sings: “I’m gonna get me a shotgun and kill all the whities I see....”
OBTW, I see a whole lot of “cultural appropriation” going on in that picture of Mr. Campbell. Starting with that Scottish last name ...

From reading, it appears the author followed the “one drop” rule.
One of the protagonists is a white girl with a distant black relative.
Apparently the mainly white peoples assemble in a town and plot evil return to power over the peaceful and wonderful blacks.
He’ll claim that he doesn’t know his real African name, because it was stolen by white slave owners. That Campbell is his “slave name,” foisted on his ancestors by the people who owned him.
Whites are only 8% of the global population.. what else do they want?

Yup. China would treat the Blacks like they do the Uyghurs. And maybe not even that good.
Russia would also try to retake Alaska. Japan and Korea might jointly try to take Hawaii and Guam.

In relatively short order, the country would be taken over by the resident Chinese & Blacks would become indentured servants.
Sadly there are a lot of sick, self loathing whites who would go along with this.
Any indication of how the novel ends?
