My niece and her fiance elected not to spend Christmas in our presence due to the fact that we have not had our ‘boosters’.
I told my brother not only “no” but “hell no.” The niece was trying to bend us to her will due to irrational fears. I will not submit.

There’s politics and there’s politics.
Anyone who supports some of the evil shit today’s Left calls politics - is no friend of mine.
I can still be friends with some pretty stupid Leftists who support some pretty stupid things.
But the ones who have cheered and fist-pumped over what has been done to President Trump and his supporters over the last eight years - they are dead to me.
I like dogs and maybe 3 people.
Those of us who voted for Donald Trump all were.
The article touches on it - but the answer is the degree to which outward, soundbite “politics” is an expression of that person’s most core beliefs and values.
I have friends from church who vote leftist. I feel they are doing so for emotional or knee-jerk reactions, but it’s hardly the sum of their character. They still believe in Christianity and put their family and local church, work and social connections above political slogans. I can easily connect with these people on the 90% on which we agree vs. the 10% we don’t agree.
I know others for whom “politics” is the sum of their moral system. They don’t seem to have underlying core beliefs, only behavioral habits. For them, the societal fashion and political slogans of the day seem to control their character - and always have them in a state of confusion, anger or depression. It’s very difficult to be friends with them.
Love requires trust.
Can you trust a liberal? I guess you can’t help but love liberal family members. But you can’t trust them.
So sorry for you. Give her a few years to hopefully grow up and realize that there is truth in the saying, ‘blood is thicker than water’, that it is FAMILIES that matter. Unfortunately, younger people can be quite brash and unthinking.

During president Trump’s first term the psyco lib across the street once told my wife and I he wanted to shoot Trump AND Governor DeSantis in the head......so no, I doubt it.
I regret to this day not notifying the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on his threat.
